Over drying WBS?
    #23673719 - 09/24/16 11:43 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

So I made quite a lot of WBS...  More than a strainer could handle.  To dry it out,  I put it on an old screen door that I laid on my deck.  I let it dry in the sun for 2 days (it was 80°F during the days and 60°F at night).

The WBS dried beautifully. The outside doesn't seem the least bit wet.  I'm worried, though, that there's a possibility I messed up the water content on the inside of the WBS. What do the shroomery experts have to say?

I'm not an expert but I think 2 days in the sun is way too much. Most people wait till it doesn't stick to a piece of toilet paper and then load their jars for PCing.  I think you have dried grains again, probably with a few hitchhikers in the mix.

It's simple method. Soak 24 hours then drain with screen for a hour. Load jars and pc two hours. Two days old is high in spore loads and hungary deer
