My wife and I signed up for Netflix recently and I soon came to regret it .
Endless reams of garbage and a few great shows I had already fully watched
My experience with Netflix is always the same
Log on, scroll through for 15 minutes, find absolutely nothing of interest.
Close and watch UFC instead.

check out Valley Uprising. Its a super interesting documentary on the history and origin of rockclimbing and how the 60s revolution shaped the sport. These climbers would just bum it in yosemite valley and climb rocks and get high. They had an endless supply of weed because they found a crashed airplane full of barrels of it before the government could, and some of them would even climb these massive yosemite rock faces tripping balls on acid.

Cold in july is fucking incredible. It's like no country for old men meets 8 mm. From the first to the last scene it's an edge of your seat thriller.
If you like creepy mysteries check out The Invitation.
In Bruges is goddamn hilarious if you like dark comedies. There's some pretty funny ass dark shit in that movie.
Dope is cool if you wanna be a critic and judge how poorly they represent bitcoins, the darknet, and status segregation.
Stranger things if you wanna binge watch a series.
If you wanna watch the most amazing korean film ever made ( dont worry its dubbed in english ) check out oldboy. This one will keep you guessing til the very end, is filled with action, and has an amazing sense of artistic value to it.

I've liked every Netflix original series I've watched so far, which I think is most of them. Just find an original one and start watching. Sense8 takes a few episodes to draw you in so give it a chance and watch it all the way through. You shouldn't regret it by the time you finish the season. The rest are pretty awesome right from the start.

Netflix is like the special olympics of internet movie watching. A PC hooks right up to any modern TV and gives you torrents, plus you can browse the web and watch porn on your TV. Netflix is the smallest slice of the pie.

It can be annoying looking for and or downloading quality TV/ movies all the time. Netflix is convenient for some things. I use netflix vs online about 50/50.

How does searching something on netflix take more effort then looking up and downloading a torrent?

Why would I do that? Hook up a reasonable PC to a TV with an HDMI and you can literally replace every source component in a system with it, unless you're absolutely determined to have physical media for some archaic reason. Torrenting from your phone is easy unless you're on an iPhone, which sucks for you. I can torrent all day on my Android devices. You don't need virus protection for torrents if you aren't stupid about it; I never have and I've been torrenting for years and years without a single problem.

Exactly my point I am on an IPhone and a brand new PC is just out of my budget which makes Netflix one of my favorite inventions of all time.

So your point is that you've bought a bunch of shit that doesn't let you do what you could do with other stuff if you'd bought them instead, and you want to act like getting torrents is such a huge pain. Well, don't buy dumb shit that limits your abilities. You don't need anything fancy at all to get torrents. One of my main torrent machines is one of the first Mac Minis with an external hard drive on it. My point is: With a PC that can access Netflix AND torrents, finding a torrent is easier most of the time when you consider Netflix has a shit selection and torrents always have everything.

It depends on the machine I'm using. On my machines, no, no protection and no problems. LINUX distros and one Mac Mini. NEVER a problem. Any other silly questions?

How can you possibly think that's cost effective for someone who HAS to get cheap things because of their budget?
Also your Mac mini may be "old" to you but I have an 04 toshiba that wasn't expensive when it came out.

I haven't had any issues on my recent machines either but that doesn't mean it can't happen...
Also not everyone has the extra space to download and store a ton of videos...

What kind of budget necessitates cheap things yet still has room for Netflix and iPhones? How'd you get the PS4 and how you do afford games for it? To your edit: the Mac Mini was free to me from someone who'd upgraded to something else. It's "old" in that sense. So being a free computer that wasn't being used at all I found a purpose for it by hooking up a hard drive with more space and downloading nothing but media to it. Yeah, it's that simple.
Also, you don't need a ton of space to download media if you're good about deleting old stuff you don't use. 100GB would hold PLENTY of stuff, and hell newegg has 1TB hard drives in the $50 range. An old, unused PC (everyone has those, craigslist has those) repurposed into a media center with a $50 hard drive is a bargain. And I guess wireless mouse/keyboard has to be bought too, but still those aren't very expensive.

The iPhone was 100$ and I don't pay for data ( technically I have 1gb a month) I also use the ps4 for Amazon video "which is free if you have a friend with it" YouTube and tons of other stuff. I love gaming and prefer controllers when gaming. Even that I saved for a few years to get.

I don't ever have anti-virus installed on my computer. I don't have any issues. Anti-virus and anti-malware programs are training wheels anyways. If you've been downloading files and browsing the web for as long as I have, you shouldn't need any of that stuff to keep your computer clean.

Yeah I mean as I said I have an old computer so maybe there isn't malware anymore on torrent sites they certainly used to
Getting back to good movies on Netflix, Arq has a simple but awesome premise. A guy and woman are in bed together he wakes up at exactly 6:16am and looks at her affectionately for 10-20 seconds and robbers come in and knock him unconscious drag him to the other room and then he barely escaped with them about to catch him when time resets to exactly 6:16 when he woke up except each time he remembers what happened last and can strategize/learn things about everyone's motives. That's not even giving anything away.
Cinematically I feel like it's flawlessly a good movie. I was suprised how awesome a Netflix original can be. Easy top 5 best movie to come out this year. It's scifi action mystery in all equal parts.

You mean what kind of computer do I have? A custom built one and I run Windows 7 and everything is turned off except firewall and I only use that to block pirated programs from connecting to their servers.
Sure I can elaborate. Learn to download only from trusted places. Torrent sites where people don't play that shit, don't get freeware from third party sites, don't download software from companies you don't know or aren't heavily vouched for by people who know what they're talking about, don't run .exe's you're not 100% positive is legit etc. Anti-malware/virus programs will teach you what's bad (training wheels). After so long you should just know this shit and not need it's help.
I know how my PC runs and I know when it's not running right. The only issues I've had in probably the last 5+ years are software issues like accidentally fucking up and deleting something that is critical to Windows or driver incompatibility. I haven't had to deal with a virus or any kind of malware in so long I don't even remember when the last time was or what it was.
