If I'm using a tissue cutting on grains and or b rice flour to establish my mycelium does it matter if I use air tight jars with no holes

It's ok if all you want is a small amount like 2-3" circle in like a 1/4or1/2pint jar before a transfer.

I've seen people do jars before successfully with no holes, but, it's because they don't tighten the lid up to where it chokes off all GE. If you aren't going to use any holes whatsoever, (which you really should be) then loosening the lid just enough to provide adequate GE will work too. Just don't take the lid off, whatever you do.

How is loosening the lid any different than taking it off? Contaminants are microscopic and will get into your substrate or spawn without proper filtering. RR

I'm not really suggesting it as a life choice lol, I believe in GE holes.
But I think it's apart of a tek that Pasty posted. Using PP5 container and plastic lids in this one. It doesn't specify if it can be done with other containers, but I didn't write the tek so I dunno.
