Steroids accident/emergency?
    #23668613 - 09/22/16 04:12 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hey guys, haven't been here in a long ass time but i got a problem I think someone here may be able to help me with.

I was cleaning out my bosses garage today and I spilled a 250mg vial of anabolic steroids all over the chest of my shirt and my hands. I was sweating and breathing it in before I decided to Google the name on the bottle and find out what it was. Can steroids absorb through skin or inhalation? I'm feeling a bit flushed in the face and I don't feel NOT angry or tense.

Just curious if this might pose a health risk (It happened about an hour ago) if anyone is educated on the subject.

Thanks in advance!

Steroids in oil base can absorb through the skin.

Powderred steroids, not particularly.

Real anabolic steroids have very low acute toxicity, even though chronic use has very far reaching effects.

If you're a male and they were proper anabolic steroids, no worries, you may feel effects but arent poisoned.

Thank you for the swift reply.

Phew, I was getting a little anxiety about the whole thing. It was an oil and it reeked like hell. I definitely don't feel the same as I did before it spilled on me but it's VERY comforting to know I'm not in immediate danger.

Should I work out now or something?

Here's the substance in question:

Yep thats a steroid, either an anabolic or a prodrug.

Just rinse off, no worries.

Focus on how you feel, you might notice interesting things in your mood and how you feel.

Hmm... well I can tell you right off the bat, I definitely felt ready for some more work even though I was just finishing up a 10 hour day and my chest feels weightless.

Mentally? I feel a tad more aggressive, but nothing crazy. My chain-smoke-cigarettes when i get home from work is absent, I dont even feel like smoking.

I did 20 push ups pretty easily but I can't help but notice an ever so slighslight pang where my heart is, a pain I usually only feel when I'm having an anxiety attack, which I'm assuming it's from since I was a little freaked out until I got your response.

Almost have an adderrall induced calmness with energy and focus replaced by the urge to do something manly.

Meh.

Seriously though, I feel energized. How do people usually do this thing? Immediately workout after taking steroids or wait a bit? Just a quick workout? (Considering it was all absorbed through the skin) I'm confused and manly and have never worked out a day in my life. Hungry too.

I'm thinking it could be a placebo.

I'm not entirely sure, it's possible it may be a placebo effect but the entire contents leaked into my chest and I got it all over my hands.

Only decided to look up what it was after I started feeling light headed. Maybe just the fumes got to me or something?

Either way I definitely feel different.

Now that you mention it, Placebo did come on my Pandora radio station around the same time it was spilled on me so maybe it's just a big conspiracy orchestrated by someone tapping into my tiny section of the matrix to show me what an idiot I am for feeling "manlier" just because I spilled some liquid on me.

The manliness was inside me all along?

Huh, so all the energy I feel may be a rush I got from the anxiety of realizing I spilled an illegal substance (that I previously assumed gives you energy and strength) all over myself.

I definitely felt strong anxiety once I realized what the hell it was.

So with that info about not feeling steroids immediately... does that mean I should now be prepared for some kind of altered mood or shrunken testes in the next few days?

I doubt something sterile intended for consumption would have noxious fumes.

Of course it can be absorbed through skin.  They have like gel tesosterone now or whatever it is.  I'm not sure if that applies to all forms of the chemical but really if you are concerned at all you should see a doctor ASAP, especially if it happened during your work day.

Are you hinting that I may have a lawsuit on my hands?

Just to clear up about my last post, I know i could get information about this stuff from a simple Google search but for some reason I'm thinking i wont get the exact answer I'm looking for because I didn't inject it, I absorbed just about the entire contents of one of the vials pictured above.

I also may have wiped it on my face, neck and arms because I'm kinda dumb.

I'm saying that there are laws to protect you from injury incurred during the course of your work, but if there is no documentation you're basically fucked.

Calling poison control now to look into this further.

Thank you.

Yeah I mean I hate to make you paranoid, and my opinion of your boss might be wrong since I am going on very little information, but that is something you should just go ahead and be careful about if it was at work.  It sucks for your boss, but this isn't 1820, you got to be careful about shit your employees do or else you are liable.  If you are dealing with drugs chemicals you should have MSDS available not have to come on the internet to ask.

Yeah it's a bit of sketchy business for sure.

So I called poison control and the woman said anabolic steroids can NOT be absorbed through the skin. It must be injected or swallowed. I suppose I'm in the clear then.

Thank you everyone for every bit of advice you had to offer.

Until next time...?

Yeah I spose if that worked everyone would just rub it on the skin.  I wonder what is different about androgel then.

Good job being thorough.  Always look out for yourself when you are at work.  If they are going to be sketchy, you be sketchy too and always CYA.

You wouldn't feel anything. It takes test awhile to kick in when you are injecting it.

It's definitely all in his head. The longer-acting enanthates take weeks for you to even feel effect, and even the quicker acting propionates still take days to notice any effect.

It's probably prepared in a different formula that allows for easy transdermal absorption.

Fear of dying from unfamiliar substance mixed with anger over knowing it wasnt my fault is a hell of an experience...

What a strange and wild trip spilling anabolic steroids all over myself by accident has been. Whew!

Tier 4 placebo effect.

15/10

Changed my life forever and would do it again. Highly recommended.
