Way better to have a pot with cats on it than to have one cat on your pots. :mad2:

Lady Laura is usually very careful, but when the odd blow fly find its way inside the house then it's every mammal for him/itself.

Yh, my two are a bit mental during 'happy hour'
I have visions of them running straight into the cactus and me finding an odd eyeball on spikes or something one day  hahaha

Wow pretty darn similar!  Nice looking too ^_^

This is my first pup, im hopeful another may come, but i dunno how many usually grow. Its atop about two and a half feet of cactus though

When its finished i think ill chop it, then see if pups again  dunno what ill do with the cut though.

Thanks,and yeah,I think it looks  a little misshapen myself:lol:

That particular plant I grew from seed back in 2009.
It always seems to get too etiolated for my tastes,so I cut the top off.

That is the bottom half, which I usually give away to somebody.
I always keep the top though, and I have one this about four times since it's been alive, which is roughly 7 years.

The top half.

But yeah, what I was getting at,was you can get unlimited plants form just owning one cactus, and I have had little tiny half dead pieces of cactus push out pups:thumbup:

Hahaha yeah, i mean its big enough to chop down and cut in half and pot a couple i bet maybe. It wasnt me who cut it, the seller did, and sold in two halves  was an ebay local collect only so i got good deals and bought both ^_^

Top ive potted to root and grow, base im using for pups then ill chop again and maybe pot.

I could eat to test couldnt i lmao check potency and all  for science. Hehe.

But i may keep potting, or give some away.  Im undecided haha

Id like to offer the seller a pup if i get enough as sounded like he had to sell his collection, but i dunno why  i know came from Holland ten years ago and was a few years old at the time.

You should try to cut future trichos on an angle so water is more easily shed. May not be a big problem if you grow exclusively indoors. But it helps keep the stump healthy outdoors.

Thanks r3dz  and yh i didnt cut it  the seller did sold base so i bought it, was ebay collect only so cheap. Week later he listed the top half lmao so i had to drive over again, top cut ended up cheaper than the base! Hahaha.

When its done pupping ill chop it down again i think. Few things i can try so ill see what happens

I guess if you don't want cats in your pots better not use kitty litter..

LOL - best laugh this week !!

But I would never use a material designed to soak up and retain water around the delicate taproots of my desert cacti - IMHO you are asking for rot.  ALL my texts, without exception, recommend a well-draining mix - cat litter is designed to be exactly the opposite.
