Habitat: Where does it grow:Los Angeles near the ocean, In sod/grass

Gills: Color: dark brown, attached gills, having crystals when dried

Stem: Length: 3-4", diameter: 1/8" - 1/4" , color: Reddish, texture fuzzy / striated, hollow, thin

Cap: Diameter: 1-3", color: buff / tan, texture: smooth mealy, conical, convex, banding

Spore print color: Definitely Black

Bruising: The stems bruise and turn dark, didn't notice blue
Other information:
Probably Pan Foes, its just that they print very dark black. Also after drying they present crystallization on the caps, gills and upper stem. Spore prints includes a 500x spore shot. What more could be done to identify positively?

Also what are the crystals? They look like they have spores embedded into the crystals as well!

With each containing one of the following: Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk? Didn't think so. This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.

The lines running vertically down the stipe instead of how Paneolina foenesecii's seem to twist, along with some spore deposits on the stipe being jet black (instead of the spores on white paper which can be hard to discern the color) lead me to believe these are actually Panaeolus Cinctulus.
Also, to me the white specs on them dont seem right. I could be wrong on this but it looks like mold of some sort. If I were you I would toss the ones with the white specs and return to the spot you found them and try to find nice fresh ones.

what Blazeyy said.
and why not just NACL for the crystals? in this case i'll take OP's word that they're crystals. mushrooms are mostly water and these were found by the ocean with crystals forming during drying...salt.
Psilocybe graveolens that grow in salt marshes do just that.

I wasn't aware that threads die less than 2 days after they are started.

The dude goes in an old thread that he never posted in just to point out I was wrong about something. Why? This forum is about learning and trying to ID mushrooms not following people around telling them they are wrong about something after its already been established. His post had nothing constructive to add and he should have just let it go.

When its possible its toxic mold yes. The mold is an unidentified fungus. Never eat an unidentified fungus... Look at the caps in the 4th row of pictures. Its mold

Something you would see if the mold developed around the spores. Not something possible with sand or salt.

Correcting errors and repeating information is a pretty good way to interact on an ID forum.

Blazeyy already said i was wrong. 18 hours later he comes in and tells me again. Unconstructive. He had never even posted in the thread. After reviewing his posts he does it alot. He cant Id mushrooms so he gets posts by copying posts others have already written.
