Outdoor grow question

I live in a 7B hardiness zone
The lowest last year was 6F (-14C) and the Average temp was 32F (0C)
I would like to start some outdoor patches for spring. Can't seem to find much data for most strains for winter. Freezing temps can kill most myc. Was wondering where would be some good info on outdoor mushroom patches in freezing climates.
I want to do some logs and and some buried patches.

Nothing I know of other than a sclerotia forming fungi will survive winter. Morels form sclerotia and require a winter for fruiting. Myc will not survive freezing without a lab.
Edit: Just so you know that I'm talking about viable cultures surviving. Spores survive winter but that's not really a patch. Shelf mushrooms seem to survive winter. I don't know much about shelve mushrooms.

Do some reading and post back. I don't know what those tolerate as I don't have good access to lumber to make a profit.

Cold strain shiitake will do fine. I read RR threw blocks out in the snow and froze them then later fruited them. Oh and I've chopped oysters out of the ice to harvest them. You would need a cold strain of those also.

Bumping to see if anyone has experimented with this.

Not a lot of info on what mushrooms go dormant and survive the winter besides shiitake. Looks like I'll have to do some experiments.

Shiitake, oysters (besides pinks and warm weather), nameko, reishi and king stropharia should all be cold hardy for almost the entire US. Also with patches vs logs you will get away in colder climate with patches, being underground they make and keep there own heat, especially if you top dress and feed em some manure for the fall.

Good to know yeah high dry temps don't help. I don't plan on dunking. I would also like to get some king stropharia and witches butter going. Lions mane too
