How long do you need to drink the medicine in order to permanently feel better?

I recently started drinking aya. I have been using mimosa hostilis and syrian rue, and brewing my own brew quite successfully actually. Yes, I know it's not a traditional brew but even if it was, every shaman brews it with different ratios this seems to do the job quite well and for much cheaper.
Anyhow... I decided to partake in the medicine after reading a bunch about it seeking for alternative healing. The first time I did it, I had actually a breakthrough, but it didn't last that long at all. It seemed very alien and like nothing ever could have prepared me for it, yet strangely familiar.
I felt quite normal the day after, even though I was quite euphoric on the comedown and being grateful for just being alive.
The second experience, which was yesterday was similar in potency. Similar to the trip I had the first time, but a bit easier because I knew what to expect. It was pretty much the same experience with some questions that got didn't get raised the last time. The nausea was also a lot more bearable, almost non-existent (yes I know I have a freakishly resistant stomach). Overall still a positive experience.
Now the day after I still could get annoyed at work, feeling tired, a bit sad, anxious too.
My question is, how long till I feel at peace all the time? I'm tired of feeling bad almost all the time. I have plenty of medicine left, and I am not afraid of it anymore even though it can scare the crap out of me at times.

How can we asnwer that? as though there is a set number of times you need to take ayA, its not an anti biotic. You could very well end up worse if your trip goes south, or you could find some deep healing in the next trip or it could take years. If you want to make the quickest and safest progress id recommend seeking a competent ayahuascero.

I'm new at this, I thought some might have experience in the healing process. I also stumbled at some info that said that you don't just take aya and you're healed. It can take from 3 to 20 sessions until it kind of "opens up" and lets the real work begin. I'm wondering if this is a myth, or has some truth to it or maybe it isn't all that black and white in the end?
I would sure love for aya to be this magic solution that fixes everything, but I know it doesn't work without sacrifices. All I'm asking is do these sacrifices actually change your life over time or is it the same as tripping on another psychedelic like lsd or shrooms.

I won't comment on LSD because I don't believe it possesses the same healing power as natural plants, but are you saying mushrooms dont or cant change your life over time because if so then I dont agree.
Each natural plant entheogen is unique, so no it is not the same as mushrooms although it can be similar.
Yes it can take several sessions to open you up and then further sessions for deeper healing to take place but we cant tell you how your particular healing jouney will unfold or how long it will take. thats why I advise you to seek an experienced and competent ayahuascero to work with.

ahh but you commented on lsd I guess to each their own, I've been healed mentally by lsd more so than any other psychedelic plant. I've also used it more though.
But OP, you're going about it wrong. Continue tripping your aya if you like the way you brew it, and it's doing something good for you. You can't consider this "medicine" the cure to all of your problems though. Daily exercise will make you feel good. Eating only the healthiest foods will make you feel good. Making lifestyle/social changes will make you feel good. Taking aya isn't going to just make everything perfect. If you feel bad all of the time, I suggest not starting with drugs/plants. Use them more as a minor bonus tool or aid through life, instead of the answer to everything.

I've been reading a book about Aya shamans and two parts of the ritual that seem pretty important are the music, and tobacco. Aya is said to the mother of Aya or maybe it's the opposite, can't remember at the moment. Just thought I would add this bit of information.

Totally agree.
The idea that Ayahuasca will be the answer to all your problems is nonsense to be honest, Ayahuasca related hype propagated by hippies who want you to believe that they are happier and more enlightened than you.
People get the idea somehow that Ayahuasca will change everything. At best it will hopefully give you some direction but it will not reorganize brain chemistry in a manner that leaves you feeling permanantly happy.
People harp on about how much psychedelics have changed them primarily for egotistical reasons IMO. I used to be blind like you but now I can see! Giving the magnitude of the experience DMT dosent change one anywhere near as much as it should do!
Not to say it doesent have benefits or that it CANT change you its just overblown.

As with any psychedelic, to really get the most out of it you have to stop having expectations and just accept what each experience gives you.

The OP didnt say he expected aya to solve all his problems, but I do think it can help some people reach self realization, or release a lot of the negativity and pain they have been holding onto, which can lead to changes in all aspects of life. If you can get your mind in order, then many positive changes can flow from that.
I definitrely agree other lifestyle changes are needed also but sometimes a trip can help inspire someone to make those changes. No guarantees of course but whose to say it cant happen?

There's definitely some things that Ayahuasca can help you with, but just know it won't happen overnight (i mean it could, but it'll probably be more of a process) and it can take some working with it to overcome some things. For me, if i start getting depressed about something, i take some Aya and i come out no longer depressed, some people might need a few experiences or it could happen in one experience, and that applies to healing trauma as well. It's definitely not a magic bullet/cure all, you will come back to your usual self, but a little bit different. You will probably still get annoyed/irritated/angry (i know i do), and i've noticed some anxieties/anxiousness will go away, but really all you can do is work with the plants, integrate into your daily life what you can, and perhaps seeking other plant medicines to help with your daily life, which is what i'm trying to do, which technically would be called plant dieting (dieta) but i think a dieta would be more temporary than for the daily.

No but he did say - "My question is, how long till I feel at peace all the time?"
That for me might just as well be the question 'how long till it solves all my problems' and IMO is expecting way too much!

That might never happen. Psychedelics aren't some ticket to 24/7 peace.
