Nothing like seeing neighboring mycelium reaching out to connect with one another. Plus the invitro going on. This jar was spawned a while ago to CVG for a mono. The mono contamed (for the third time in a row). Everybody said it was the jars that were contaminated, causing me to have fucked up grows. My original thought was, maybe that was th case for my first monotub, which sporulated and ultimately contaminated my room. I'm beginning to think more and more that that hypothesis was correct. I've had 2 jars with remaining grains after spawning that has had invitro growing with no sign of the mean green that I had been getting in my monos. This looks like happy and healthy mycelium to me.

Side question: For that itty, bitty, little pin, since it has not been exposed to the outside of the jar, and has only been able to breath through a SFD...could you drop that little pin straight into honey water to make LC, or does it HAVE to come from the inside of the stem? I wouldn't think there would be an issue of rotting since it's the same size you would cut out of the stem anyways. The thing is microscopic lol.

Why it's... MYC LIGHTNING!! Go myc lightning, you're taking over my whole jar. Myc Lightning, go myc lightning.
I went way further with that than I was supposed to, but wasn't sure if the reference would click lol. But that's what it reminds me of. Like a bunch of lightning bolts all across the jar. I'm for sure going to do something with it. Probably agar. Maybe LC.

Agar. Drop that on agar, clean it up if necessary, drop wedge into LC. Grow mushrooms.

Say it with me mushboy. Anastomosis.
Now say it twice as fast, while you're drunk.

So on the last photo, on the left hand side, near the middle of the photo, there are 3 grains. In between them, there are all the anastomosis strands. I have a couple dental pick type tools. I'm going to flame til red hot, cool in an agar dish, and then drag across the glass right in between those 3 grains in hopes to capture the strands. Then I'll smear those strands to agar. Any thoughts on what the outcome would be? Will it continue on the path it's on, or will it start to grow normal mycelium? I can capture a photo of the exact area I'm talking about if you guys need it. Or, if you have thoughts on a different area then let me know.

Why do you think that? Do you think that the anastomosis strands are bacteria rather than myc. The jar was opened one time do do a G2G and that was inside my SAB. And the lid hasn't been opened yet. And it has invitro and no "visible" signs of contams. While I'm sure there is bacteria in there, I feel like I could still get mycelium growth of some kind on agar, but would definitely have to clean it up.

No, I think they're myc, that has grown very desperate and could potentially be infected.

Is that the consensus for anastomosis growth? It is typically the result of fighting bacteria? I don't see any metabolites or discoloration any where, so I'm curious as to how it's gonna go.
