Medical Tinctures

So, I got an investor to fund a study of mine, focusing on the suppression of specific cancer cells, using medicinal mushroom extracts. The extracts contain a mix of different medicinal mushroom extracts.
Now, this investor comes back to me, asking to instead be my business partner. I'll receive a damn good share of the company. My part is to make a shitload of extract for a product that we will bring to market. He has something else medicinal in the product as well, but I won't say what that is.
I just barely missed the last Colorado University auction, which I'm totally pissed about. A 40 gallon retort with boiler sold there for $90. Those are great for commercial mushroom farms. I should have been the one to buy that. I'm going to see if I can buy it off the guy that bought it. That way, I can process way more grain at a time.
Anyways, I'm planning on doing these steps:
1. Extract with alcohol. 2. Extract with warm water. 3. Distill the alcohol in order to recollect a good portion, and decrease the volume of the tincture. 4. Distill the warm water extract. 5. Use a hydrometer to find the amount of alcohol left in the alcohol extract. 6. Mix the two extracts together, calculating to have 20-23% alcohol left in the tincture.
After that, I will be mixing it with the preexisting medicinal sample my investor/business partner gave me, and handing the product back so he can check it out.
Now, I'm worried on one part. In the distillation, I don't want to break down any medicinal properties. I'm not sure what temp those break down at. If boiling water/alcohol will break them down, I can instead use a vacuum distillation setup. That will bring the boiling point down.
I can bring the boiling point of water down to 20C/68F, and I can bring the boiling point of alcohol down to 3C/37.4F.
While I have the capability to do the vacuum, I don't want to do it if its not necessary.
Any idea what temperatures may effect the medicinal properties?

Thanks for the link. I can't wait for the other information later
Though remember, I'm working on a tincture, extracted from the mycelium and/or fruit body. I'll need to boil them down. 190f is below water's boiling temp.

Double extraction..
Alcohol and water extraction..
For the water extraction Don't boil..
Use low heat (simmer) for a few days..

Dilution Calculator
I try to stay above 25% alcohol for a good preservative ratio..

Are you looking to recapture the ethanol purely for economic reasons or do you need to get the % down for marketability?

For economic reasons, mostly. We just received an order for 30,000 bottles.
When it comes to volume like that, its worth recovering as much as possible.

Stargate..
Double extraction..
Click on the supplement facts right below the Host Defense Extract Box..
http://www.fungi.com/product-detail/product/host-defense-reishi-extract-2-fluid-oz.html
Notice that Paul Stamets product is 30% to 40% alcohol..
Mycelium is grown on brown rice. (mycelium for liquid extract)..
Fruit body is alcohol extract...
If you let the alcohol percentage go to low you could have a problem of having unwanted crap growing in your tinctures. Not a problem if you keep refrigerated..
