Hey Fellow Mycophiles! I'm trying to track down a BBC Radio 4 Drama called "The Liberty Cap". Unfortunately the BBC site says this episode is no longer available. I was really hoping that someone might have, or could point me in the direction of finding it. The production Info provided is: Written by Hattie Naylor Program consultant: Dr Robin Carhart-Harris Music consultant: Mark Jackson Sound design by Alisdair McGregor Produced and directed by Boz Temple-Morris A Holy Mountain production for BBC Radio 4
For those who know me, my obsession with all things Liberty Cap related is no surprise So although the characters are fictional, it's inspired by clinical trials conducted in the Neuropsychopharmacology Unit of Imperial College, London by Dr.Robin Carhart-Harris, a psycho-pharmacologist and consultant on the project.
An interview I watched with Dr.Harris called "Psilocybin and the Psychedelic State" discusses his research on Psychedelic/Entheogenic drugs, such as Psilocybin, and their potential for therapeutic use to help depression, addiction, and other patterns of rigid thought, as well as the ethical questions raised by using them.
This seems to be on par with the summary provided on the BBC website: "Pete has been suffering from depression for many years but no therapy or medicine has had any lasting benefit. Now he is considering taking part in a clinical trial that is testing a new treatment that uses Psilocybin, the psychoactive chemical found in magic mushrooms.
One final thing I will say though is the graphic they used is terrible ... If you Call it "The Liberty Cap" you should probably make sure the mushrooms you use for the pic are actually them!

Hey that sounds interesting! Will investigate............................................ ............................................................. ............................................................. The only source I could find was a torrent on rareshare.me but this requires registration.....too complicated for me and I don't use any torrent client but you might give it a go.
only other thing I would recommend to check out is a forum for audio dramas and plays. I am a member of a german forum of this kind and its great, but they only got a small selection of english audio dramas and such..........no Liberty Cap
let me know when you've found it please
cheers, circles
