Had a rooted rifat arrive in the mail, leafs were mostly yellow.  I repotted but I don't think it survived.  The bumble bee arrived in same condition but it took and is growing.  Some plants just don't survive.  Cuttings for example...you take the utmost care and prep but a couple might not take for whatever reason. Nature of the beast.  Next pot size for one is a 45 or 55 gallon drum or put it in the ground.

Are these possible to grow indoors in other climates?

They are trees. One of mine would be touching the ceiling if I didn't top it for cuttings..even then it's about to be back where it was. I suppose if you were very wealthy, had really high ceilings with sky lights (windows) and a wall of windows it would be an awesome house tree.

Probably an atrium. You would have to keep it trimmed. They do good in the shade, as well as the sun where i live. And its hellish here.

Well my first cutting that I ordered has died. My second one should be arriving this week, and it's going to live under a LED grow light in my kitchen, and it won't be transplanted until it puts on a few more nodes. This is my last chance to grow kratom so I sure hope it works out.

Whats up fellows. Just got a couple plants. I've been trying to slowly acclimate them to the sun outside, 30 mins a day. Even then a little sunburn but not much. But i'm getting a lot of leaf curling and some crisp brown edges. I'm a novice as far as any sort of botany goes so i'm not really sure how to properly diagnose this. I noticed the soil was still wet at night even though i watered it in the morning.Hell it's still damp the next day. I would have thought a vendor would have sent me the right soil. Maybe I'm wrong? Can't afford to kill these babies in times like this.

Also would it be better to leave them under a covered porch during the acclimation process or keep them inside?

So a little confused. Leaves look like under watering but like I said soil is staying wet all day. Diagnosis?

Do you think it's just stress from the transfer? They looked great when I first got them. Just want to make sure I'm not messing these fellows up. Got em out on the covered porch for now. It's a bit humid this days so hopefully they like it better out here. You think I should upgrade the pot yet? Or give them a minute to heal?

Leave them alone for now and dont worry too much. They look real good regardless. Once you know the stress is over you can repot it.

Was at my buddies house and one of the plants came like this, its about the only thing that worries us.

Another has a dying leaf but that was probably from shipping, In fact most problems seem to be from them being shipped or transplant shock but this idk.

Hard to see bc i took it just now at night, but it has red spots.

Should it be isolated or something?

Okay thanks for the response! It's hard getting info on these guys. Really wish there was a trouble shooting guide haha. Just leaving them on the covered porch for now, misting periodically, and trying to only give water when the soil seems in need. Fingers crossed

So my leaves are continuing to curl upward and turn pale. The bigger leaves still look good, but many of the medium and smaller ones are looking pretty bad. I am at a complete loss as to what to do about it

Well I got my second plant in yesterday and it's a much nicer specimen. It's shorter and has a lot more leaves. The last one was a long twig with two leaves coming out if it. I have much higher hopes for this one. Will post a pic when I get home.

Thoroughly appreciate the advice given:) luckily they seem to be doing well minus two or three leafs falling off (I think due to the transplant) appears that they're popping some new leaf sets from the stems. I think bugs have made a couple of holes in a leaf here and there but not any major damage. Just keeping a good eye on them and the weather, next weekend is supposed to be as cool as this one but ill be out of town so my roommate will have watering duties. I should be getting two new trees from a friends cousin that passed away apparently they're waist high and lost almost all their leafs so I may have a few more questions after this Sunday

Oh and one more question, I've looked around a bit and can't find an answer, is the dea planning to make the plant illegal as well or just the end product?

Yes it will be illegal. I sincerely doubt anyone would give you trouble for it. It looks like any other plant and it's not like many people even grow it. Not a cash cow like mj.
