Have a few kratom cutting im trying to get established, from what I've read they like nitrogen rich soil that is not too compact but also allows water to pass through without drying out. I used a clean 5 gallon bucket to mix about half a bucket of organic garden soil, just enough perlite to stop clumping, an 1/8 to 1/4 bucket or a sphangum peat moss to help hold moisture, and dash of nitrogen based fertilizer. Would appreciate any feedback and/or advice. Also I live in south Texas as location seems important

They are pretty heavy feeders, but you can burn them. A rich soil that drains well but does not dry out too fast is ideal. Garden Soil, plenty of perlite, and organic compost. Feed with something that not only consists of the standard macronutes like NPK but has other micronutes. Currently using 4 different types for 1 well balanced blend that works excellent with the soil. Give roots a roomy home(you have that covered with the 5 gallon pots BUT if all goes well they will outgrow that and need a new home next summer.) Keep a keen eye on the weather, they do not take kindly to temperatures 50 degrees and below. Does not mean they won't survive but it stresses them and can drop leafs. If you keep them warm on those 'cold' winter days/nights they will not drop leafs and continue to grow. Humidity is another key factor, usually not a problem for us coastal south texas dwellers but those sunny warm blue bird sky winter days after a hard northern can be dry so keep that in mind..keep in a green house, inside home, cover with clear plastic, or just mist them a few times throughout the day(if possible) and they will be just fine. Direct scorching summer sun can do more harm than good. Filtered light or morning sun/afternoon shade is what you want. What strains do you have?

I'd have to ask my buddy that ordered them as to which strain, it usually stays pretty humid here until, like ya said, we get a northern but its been humid enough so far to not have to mist often. They probably get 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight in the morning, the rest is filtered by their surroundings. Ill definitely look into the type of feed ya suggested, and thank ya much for the feedback. Makes me feel better to hear that I've been going in the right direction with them.

I figured they'd like the rain, my chili plant has exploded this year from it. Soon as I watered them a lil a stray shower rolled through, nature has a funny sense of humor

If it was a shroomery sponser(World seed supply) sister site than you would be right.
Also looks like they are out of stock.

I got a kratom plant in the mail. I acclimated it to my high humidity grow room for a week, any then transplanted it into a bigger pot. I think the transplant shock has killed it. The leaves wilted and started curling in. The apical meristem looks messed up. I'm sad, but I'm wondering if the stem will stay alive and produce new leaves eventually. We'll see. It's too late to get a new plant.

You should have placed it in the shade and left it there to avoid shock. I find they dont really need high humidity. They dont a dumb owner like me to cut it in half though. ill never make that mistake again.

Well I ordered one more plant just in case. With priority mail it should arrive before the 30th. I put my first one in my mushroom fruiting room in my garage, but the next one I'm gonna keep indoors under an LED grow light and hold off on transplanting for longer.

Honestly I wouldn't recommend someone on this forum to just throw whatever creative thing they come up with into the pot.For dummies, Put it in a large pot with miracle grow potting soil. Keep it watered always. It's best to have it somewhere where the temp is above 70 if it gets too cold it dies.Greenhouses are great.

I transplanted mine into miracle grow potting soil with a little extra perlite and crushed granite. The soil had been outside and rained on quite a bit so I figured the fertilizer all leached out. After transplanting I fed it with a light dose of Age Old grow, and 2 days later it started wilting. I'm not holding out much hope for this one, but only time will tell.
