So, I just followed the template, and didn't say hi or anything. So. Hi. I've looked at several known mushrooms in my area, google image searched them all and didn't find something that looks like these. Just wondering if anybody has a name and if I should worry about keeping them? I'm printing one now- give it a day or two I hope to have some spores.
A few questions, do psycho mushrooms bruise blue? Is that the indicator or is there other fungi that blue as well? Do all psycho fungi bruise blue? I found a link someplace with color of spores and type of fungi. I can't find it but is there a general correlation between say psycho mushrooms and spore color? Or poisonous and spore color? Thanks anyone who can answer my questions.

HI, welcome to the shroomery. Refer to Agaricus sp.(species) (same sp as store bought mushrooms like portabello)
Not all psychoactive fungi bruise blue and not all fungi that bruise blue are psychoactive. It is used as an indicator in helping to ID amongst other things. Other good indicators of a psychedelic mushroom are purple spores, a removable gelatinous layer on the cap and a few others. Although as before those indicators arent guaranteed and are used only in helping to ID.

As he said never eat anything without multiple opinions and doing your own research as well. No matter how many people tell you something is edible always do your own research on top of that.
As for the mushrooms you found I would say they are Agaricus Californicus

Thanks everyone for the reply. i have grown some cubes, which the spores are very dark black I assumed but maybe they're purple. I'll have to double check these. I printed the two largest cubes I grew recently.

Mollylucy mj - I'm curious about the gelatinous layer you mentioned. Either I haven't noticed or I don't have it in my cubes that I have grown. Many many have been eaten and they're in fact 'good' for a good time. But I guess I'm not sure where or what the layer should be? A link or explanation please?? Thank you

The "Gelatinous pellicle" as its called, from my experience, isnt very prominent on Cubensis. I think (not positive) Cubensis sp have a gelatinous pellicle but im not sure of it.
Liberty caps are a good example of a PS species with a gelatinous pellicle.
Deconica are a good example of how not all PS species have one.
