Grow Light Wattage Question - 30 Watt vs 45 Watt LEDs - Effect on Yield?

Hi all,
I've been stressing about LED lights lately. Assuming that the light spectrum is the same, how much of a difference in yield would there be when comparing a 30 Watt light to a 45 Watt light? Would it be a noticeable or significant difference?
Thanks for your time, PW

Watt measures power consumption so it's not a very accurate unit of measurement in this intended case. If you're in a 8'x4'x4' box then a 45 watt LED array would be more than big enough. You may need to adjust how close the lights are to your plants, though.
I would put two LED arrays next to each other in a slight slant(towards each other if that makes sense?) so that light penetration is covered. This has been my biggest issue with LEDs so far. I would also say put in a full spectrum CFL to supplement the plants with all other missing wavelengths.

I agree with Oggy. Take a look at my set up in the salvia growers thread. I have a 150w LED with a array of CFL for a full spectrum.
As far as LED goes wattage isn't very good indication as oggy has already mentioned PAR is a lot better unit of light intesoty but meters aren't cheap.
My biggest issue with LEDs is get a good one and by good I mean DO NOT BUY ANY LED PANELS THAT USE 1WATT DIODES. They're extremely weak and do not have very good penetration... You'd be better off with cfl.
Get an LED panel with 3watt diodes, for a larger space look into 5watt diodes, but for your small space 3 Watts diode panels would be fine.
I used my panel in a 6x1.5x1.5 area and it was amazing and it still does well in a much larger space with extra cfl for supplemental lighting/other wavelengths.
