Car problem. Help please?

Hey guys, I drive a 2002 Hyundai accent manual. For the past couple months it's had some rough starts and even didn't start a few times. (Engine rumble til stall) the other day I parked it at McDonald's for about 10 minutes and when I tried to start the car it would crank but not turn over. I needed to stomp the gas immediately after cranking it to get it to go. It stalled 20 times on my way home whenever I went too slow. All lights are working properly and I can hear my fuel pump whirl when I turn the key. Any educated guesses on this problem? I haven't tested much yet but I'm thinking fuel filter, fuel pump, bad spark plug, or bad crankshaft sensor. Can someone point me in the right direction?

It does sound like something in the fuel system. I'm surprised there are no check engine lights when the engine won't idle properly.
I mean I would check belt tension, air filter, fuel lines and filter make sense, and replacing spark plugs could help. All that will be cheap, and you should do it anyway.

Thanks bud. It does have a constant check engine light for an o2 sensor last time I checked, and runs crappy when idling. Just swapped out the air filter a couple weeks ago. I also know the timing belt is very old, but can't be totally blown yet if I can get the car to go, right? I definitely gotta run the codes again.

spark plugs. Fuel pump usually just dies pretty quick, it doesn't waste it's time dicking around.

Well it doesnt really start at all unless I floor the gas, but yeah it was dying in gear all the way home. For example, nearing a stop in third would stall it, have to quickly turn the key n slam gas while still in third to get it to keep going. To make matters worse my power steering would lock up and that made it an extra dangerous ride.

You can take a few minutes and check all your vacuum hoses for a leak. I would try to rule that out first, as it's easy to do.

If power steering is going too I would definitely check the serpntine belt. It could be slipping or about to snap.

Spark plug, spark plug wires would be my first thing to check. Just replace them, it's a good thing to do. Then you said you had an 02 code throwing, I would change that out too and see what happens. Then fuel filter.

sounds like a dying fuel pump to me.
How many miles does it have?
I had to replace my fuel pump recently, at around 160,000 miles cause the car was hard to start.
Find the fuel filter on the pump side, loosen the nut holding the fuel line to it, and turn the car on (dont start the car thou). The pump primes the fuel line. Fuel should spray out the loose nut.
Might be your car battery, sometimes a weak battery doesnt have juice to run the spark plugs and all the accessories in the car.
