Ways to avoid cellphone radiation?

Hi, this is something that's bugged me for a long time... (yes i have ocd) Now, sure i could relax on the matter - but cell-phones really, are bad for you.. So what's the best way to get around this issue? I've been thinking about using skype on my computer with a wired ethernet connection for the majority of my calls.. But then sometimes a mobile phone is necessary when out and about trying to co-ordinate with others.
In the case of using a phone while out the house, what can be done to make it safer? I've read about 'air tube' headphones and all sorts.. - i don't know if that's a load of marketing BS ... I'm certainly wary of something that 'absorbs radiation'... as if you're carrying a Radio-wave 'Conductor' at head level, well that doesn't sound like a great idea to me, as wouldn't it absorb/focus ambient radiation in the direction of your head?
I've been looking at these products: https://www.rfsafe.com/product-category/phone-radiation-safety/
BUT,,, i have a feeling they're just cashing in on peoples concerns.. and like i said, i worry they could even make things worse,,, I'm just off to buy a phone with low SAR rating... Samsung seem to be top dog in that area.. (i need a new one, radiation concerns aside)

You could always not use the cell, just sayin. I hate cellphones. Keep it off, and use it in an emergency, keep a charger in your car.
The question is like, how can I eat McDonalds and get ripped at the same time

Yeh dude they beam invisible gamma rays into your brain and slowly give you internal rad poisoning
It just hasn't happened yet because cell phones haven't been around long enough for people to start developing symptoms

OP you shouldnt worry about this. The radiation from sun light is more destructive than the cell phone radiation. Cell phone rads are not ionizing, they cant break DNA strands. Sunlight IS ionizing, it can break DNA strands.
Cellphone radiation can only heat an area of flesh. If your worried about the heat, just use headphones when talking on the phone.
If cellphone radiation was causing cancer, we'd see some results by now. Bran tumor occurrence has been consistent for the past 30 years. The only reason anyone might find an increase in brain tumors in the population is due to medical technology to detect them which has gotten much better in the last 20 years.
So yeah, phone radiation is not Ionizing, Sunlight radiation IS Ionizing. If youre worried about ionizing radiation then you should live in a lead box without windows.

The innate radiation caused by metabolic processes in the human body is enough to give you cancer. It's also enough to make humans bioluminescent.

Terence McKenna said when a new drug comes out to let the dummies try it out first. Do you think the govt is more concerned with your health or money? I've never used a cellphone for the reason that I distrust putting that thing up to my head. Maybe that is funny for a drug forum. I do not have OCD.

From the National Cancer Institute~
Quote:
Radiofrequency energy, unlike ionizing radiation, does not cause DNA damage that can lead to cancer. Its only consistently observed biological effect in humans is tissue heating. In animal studies, it has not been found to cause cancer or to enhance the cancer-causing effects of known chemical carcinogens (6–8). The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is carrying out a large-scale study in rodents of exposure to radiofrequency energy (the type used in cell phones). This investigation is being conducted in highly specialized labs that can specify and control sources of radiation and measure their effects. Preliminary results from this study were released in May 2016.
Researchers have carried out several types of epidemiologic studies to investigate the possibility of a relationship between cell phone use and the risk of malignant (cancerous) brain tumors, such as gliomas, as well as benign (noncancerous) tumors, such as acoustic neuromas (tumors in the cells of the nerve responsible for hearing), most meningiomas (tumors in the meninges, membranes that cover and protect the brain and spinal cord), and parotid gland tumors (tumors in the salivary glands) (9).
In one type of study, called a case-control study, cell phone use is compared between people with these types of tumors and people without them. In another type of study, called a cohort study, a large group of people who do not have cancer at study entry is followed over time and the rate of these tumors in people who did and didn’t use cell phones is compared. Cancer incidence data can also be analyzed over time to see if the rates of cancer changed in large populations during the time that cell phone use increased dramatically. These studies have not shown clear evidence of a relationship between cell phone use and cancer. However, researchers have reported some statistically significant associations for certain subgroups of people.

HOWEVER: exposure to electromagnetic radiation from cell phones may disrupt neurotransmitters in the brain...
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/23852905/
Quote:
Abstract BACKGROUND: The use of mobile phones is rapidly increasing all over the world. Few studies deal with the effect of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) on monoamine neurotransmitters in the different brain areas of adult rat.
AIM: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of EMR on the concentrations of dopamine (DA), norepinephrine (NE) and serotonin (5-HT) in the hippocampus, hypothalamus, midbrain and medulla oblongata of adult rats.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Adult rats were exposed daily to EMR (frequency 1800 MHz, specific absorption rate 0.843 W/kg, power density 0.02 mW/cm2, modulated at 217 Hz) and sacrificed after 1, 2 and 4 months of daily EMR exposure as well as after stopping EMR for 1 month (after 4 months of daily EMR exposure). Monoamines were determined by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FD) using their native properties.
RESULTS: The exposure to EMR resulted in significant changes in DA, NE and 5-HT in the four selected areas of adult rat brain.
CONCLUSIONS: The exposure of adult rats to EMR may cause disturbances in monoamine neurotransmitters and this may underlie many of the adverse effects reported after EMR including memory, learning, and stress.
