Of course. In fact, I suggest all amateur shroomerites working with a lot of agar plates or slants get a little mini fridge.

Actually, mini fridges suck balls for mycology. Mini fridges are absolutely horrible at keeping the temps stable. Stable temps are crucial for long term culture storage.
As for OP's question, after taking the colonized plate from the fridge I would make a transfer before I use the plate on a grain jar. Contams can easily lie dormant at colder temperatures and it's always good to see if your culture is still vigorous. In cases where the temps fluctuate a lot (causing the culture to freeze and thaw), the mycelium can become damaged and if you are using regular petri dishes, it's not uncommon for the parafilm to tear, possibly letting mold spores in.

Maybe if you buy a cheap shit $50 one. Lol
The one I'm using is pretty darn stable and reliable. If not, just use a regular fridge I guess, but I rather put my mycology shit somewhere where children and wife isn't opening 500 times daily and rummaging through.
Guess a regular old fridge specifically for your stuff would work better too but I don't need anything that large.

An old big one is probably just as bad since it won't seal as well as it did when new. Regardless of what you use/how new it is, I think it's always a good idea to see how much temps fluctuate before dedicating it to storing cultures. Mini fridges tend to have near freezing temps at the back and significantly warmer temps near the door, with temps fluctuating wildly.
IME, a fridge is like buying shit from china, sometimes you draw the short end of the straw and sometimes you find gold. I've had a brand spanking new fridge be totally shitty yet the 20year old fridge is still going strong.

Right on. I probably should check the temp of it with a thermometer, I guess I shouldn't really say stable unless I know for sure. It is a guess, though it really does seem that way. Plus it fits right in my grow area without taking up a shitton of room.
But anyway, about storing plates.
OP, I personally wouldn't use plates to store on a long term basis anyway. Maybe a couple months at most, if you're going to go any longer than that, I would use slants. I think most vets do this anyway for long term storage, amarite?

Ab so lutely! No mattrr how I adjusted mine the temp would never stay stable, or the top of the stack will freeze and the bottom too warm, filling up with condensation etc Even in soft pack coolers they would never keep well.
Then my mini fridge kicked the bucket while I was out of town for two weeks.. in a wicked hot room. Fucked up most of my cultures

Yes i just needed to slow it down because rn im making unnecessery transfers just because i cant grow them yet... but the more i transfer the more contams i see so i dont like that but it looks like i have nice mycelium right now. Also... if i see contaminated plate that i want to use for grain can i just cut one piece of myc and transfer that one piece rather than transfering whole agar plate inside?

If you have a contam in a plate you can't use that is your grain inoculant. Contaminant spores and microscopic mold mycelium will be present in your plate, the second that you open that the spores are airborne.
Transfer the mycelium until you get a plate that is completely clean before using it as inoculant.
