Would many small drill holes in a cluster the size of the hole in your monotub work just as effective as one big hole? I'm asking because I don't have that drill bit for big holes so I want to make a little cluster of small holes for where every big hole should go.

Anyone tried this? I tried searching for it but I'm having little luck.

If you cant afford a $9 hole saw you have bigger problems to contend with.

Yeah think I must, I read somewhere that too small holes on a SGFC will not work for keeping up humidity that's why I'm wondering if it will work in a cluster to replace a big hole.

Just realized you are located in SA.

Align the drill along thr circumference of a drawn on 1.25” hole. Use a knife to carefully remove the remaining bits.

Or Buy a soldering iron or find a very small metal can and do exactly the same thing we do when constructing a SAB w an empty metal coffee container w a stove.

This is my first tub with a liner and as condensation does its thing about half a quart of water has left my substrate and is now lying outside of my liner in the monotub. What's your experience with this? Is it a problem? My surface seems to dry up a bit fast, misting twice a day.

How big are your holes and hoe many layers of MP did you do on each hole?

3cm in diameter but I'm not worried about the surface,I know how to fix this.  I'm wondering about the water being drained from my sub and ending up in my monotub outside the liner thanks to condensation, its about half a quart of clean water making a dam outside my liner. Do you guys normally get this with liners? What do you do with it?

I like heating up a tomato paste can with a torch and pressing it to the tub.

It should be ok, just drill enough that you have approximately the same total hole area as a single hole. Or you could just eyeball it as you're gonna be dialing in the tub with tape anyway.

I found it so much easier to dial tubs in, not to mention no mess with poly.

So I just taped my nose with micropore and checked airflow and then stuffed with polyfil :sun: to compare airflow resistance when breathing.

One layer of micropore puts about the same resistance (FAE) as quite tightly stuffed polyfil.
Two layers is almost unbreathable.

Just saying...

So you taped your nose and then stuffed with polyfil? How does that work? Shouldn't you stuff your nostrils with polyfil and then tape? Also what the fuck does that have to do with anything?

Nice edit. So what you are trying to say is this method doesn't work and I'm lying about my results.
