Boletus?
    #23650067 - 09/16/16 10:10 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here,

I often go mushroom hunting for 2 kinds of mushrooms because they are the only ones I know well and am confident about, Chanterelles and Boletus (porcini) mushrooms in Quebec, Canada.

I always encounter the same kind of mushrooms and I'm never sure about whether they are in fact Boletus mushrooms and comestible because they have slightly different appearance from the usual porcini, especially around the trunk.

I've attached 2 pictures, I would love some feedback,

Thank you,

Fred

FWIW "The Bolete Filter" seems to be a fairly thorough guide to North American boletes http://boletes.wpamushroomclub.org/WP/
Good luck
