Holey bucket tek for oysters?

So I saw in "Let's Grow Mushrooms" that RR grew oysters on straw in a laundry basket. I have 60 quarts of oysters that are colonizing very well. I looked up the price of laundry baskets and they seem to expensive for the amount of oysters I'm making.
Then, the other day, I was at Home Depot buying stuff for work and noticed that a 5 gallon bucket + the lid was only around $5.
I was wondering if y'all think this tek would work:
- Buy a bunch of buckets with lids
- Drill a bunch of holes in them with my 3" hole saw
- Pack with layered straw/spawn
- Wrap with saran wrap with a few holes for gas exchange
- Let colonize
- Move buckets outdoors & water once a day with a hose
Oh and FYI, I'm growing so much because fall and spring are the two times per year where the temperatures are right for oysters during the day and it doesn't freeze overnight.

Buckets work fine, I would use about 12. One half inch holes. No need for saran wrap.

Oh, keep humidity up do not water in the bucket. Moisture in straw should be enough.

What are your temps where you live with you growing outdoors?

Use a sprinkler on a timer or some form of manual spraying and put them in a shady area. I've only done 3 or 4 outdoor grows, but hitting them with a hose a few times a day seems to work, although that's probably dependent on your climate.
One idea I had was to make an A-frame cloth tent over the substrate (logs, baskets, buckets, whatever) and spray it periodically with water. The cloth will readily evaporate water as air flows through it, creating a humid interior with unlimited air exchange, while protecting from bugs and excess sunlight. That's my theory anyway.
60 quarts is a lot! You could inoculate close to a ton of wet sub with that much spawn.

You can get buckets for free from dumpsters behind restaurants and grocery stores. The best buckets are ice cream pails (the commercial kind), they're narrow enough to allow air exchanges through to the middle and you won't see as many contams as a result. As said, 1/2" holes are all that's necessary and make sure to add one in the bottom to allow extra water out. Good luck!

Bakeries and cupcake stores are also good sources of free buckets. They toss out a few every week and have been happy to give them to people rather than throw them away, in my experience.
I have about 30 buckets that I got for free from a local cupcake store over a period of several weeks.

Unfortunately not true, it would be optimal and natural to water a bucket. There is not enough water in the substrate to reach 100% yield.

My point was not to pour water in bucket every day. Should have said if substrate is low on moisture then water.

My first grow was 24kg of waste paper in a large plant bucket, with holes at the bottom. Colonized indoors, cased and set to fruit outdoors, it fruited for 3 years.
Got roughly 80% yield which is pretty normal for Golden oyster.

Unfortunately, I live in a place where the temperatures are almost never optimal for growing oysters. For example, this Wednesday, there's going to be a high of 82°F and a low of 56°F at night

I did holey buckets starting out. They worked great in a fruiting tent, these are in a spare bathroom and didn't get enough FAE.

Pro they are stack-able and re-usable, Con you have to clean them out and the diameter of the bucket is wider than I like so you could end up with the possibility it getting too hot in the middle.
Edit: To colonize I would put them in a loose fitting trash bag.

Try: Pleurotus pulmonarius or Pleurotus eunosmus. Both tackle 82°F, and can still colonize at 36°F.
