Packaging live plants for shipping 6

This is off Dr. uarewotueat's method. Its in the stickies but really hard to see. So ill start the way i do it. Im not married to this method but people i have sent plants to have never complained and have always marveled at it. Super easy people.
Im using a mitragyna hirsuta that i am sending out tomorrow.
First your supplies. Beer not optional. Enhances productivity.

Cut the bottle in half. Eyeball the cut at the rim of the pot

Place the plant in the bottle.

Soak some paper towels in water. Since it rained yesterday, a lot i might add, i soaked them in rainwater. Place on the insides of the pot.

Now take some duct, 4 pieces, roughly 6 inches/15 centimeters long, and place right under the lowest sets of leaves like this. Tape down to sides.

Place the top of the bottle on.

And tape all around the 2 pieces of the bottle.

Now its ready to be shipped. Super easy. Took me less than 10 minutes to do.
Even upside down and tumbles will do no harm.

Dr.urarewotueat used a salvia plant. Which is so cool but i have used this plant instead. And ive shipped kratom as well. This is a seedling plant but this species grows more squat than kratom. Kratom seems to have longer internodes. Both of the mitragyna genus.
Enjoy guys.

You got any more of those mit? Super cool. I usually do this method also but without the top part of the bottle maybe I'll try that next. Thanks ferrel

Too big and heavy to pay for international shipping - which is what all my shipping is. I unpot the plant, wash off the root, dry, wrap it bubblewrap - mail that in a padded envelope.

Thanks for chiming in gramps. I knew youd dissaprove. But its more of a domestic thing. I should have mentioned this.
AND if receiver is buying, have them pay for shipping. Simple as that. You mainly deal in cacti and you do a fine job of that. but for leafy plants, this is the best way.
Now if you wanna go a more cost effective way with more risk to the plant, you unpot the plant, soak in a root translpant solution, wrap thw roots up in spanish moss, bag it up and toss in a padded envelope. Ive shipped kratom all thw way to Taiwan with that method. Kadakuda would attest to that but he is gone. Other people i have sent to that way as well.
No harm no foul.

Not my idea but an idea worth reinventing. Glad you liked.

Obviously this wouldn't work for international shipping considering the plants must be shipped bare root for invasive pest concern reasons.
Although I have a customer who wants a plant internationnaly shipped. Anyone got a good way to do with salvia without making a big bulky box. I like your idea Spanish can u give more detail?

With out soil. Dry the roots. And package i butcher paper. Pretty simple.

Like i said, this for domestic. Kratom was so easy to ship internationaly but Druarewotueat send salvia with this method. If the person buying wishes to do so, spring for the extra 30 or so dollars to ship international express. Thats only if they want.
Salvia, it seems, is more sensitive. Kratom did very well when i sent to Kadakuda. And he lives in Taiwan so goes to show you. Super simple to unpot. Soak thw roots and wrap in spanish moss.
Actually i started out with the method above, but like you all mentioned, to save on shipping i used the spanish moss bagged method. Shipping withing the states that way was like 6 bucks priority.

Yeah ferrel I'm well aware. It was addressed to Spanish. My fault for the confusion.

I unpot the plant, wash off the root, dry, wrap it bubblewrap - mail that in a padded envelope.
There IS no more detail - that is all I do.
I should also just mention that seeds to the US also need to go in a padded envelope - they have postal machinery that crushes them to dust in a regular envelope.
