I'd rather just eat the steak seared. I don't get to buy good cuts of meat too often, seems like a waste to fry it and mask that beautiful flavor when it's pretty much the only reason I desire them to begin with. Not really concerned with the differences in nutritional value and there is a way to address pretty much any texture issue. It's flavor is really the only thing that sets it apart.

I buy the thinner ribeyes that are maybe 7-10oz and use those. 1 pounded out can serve 1-2 people if you have the sides to go with it. I use a lower cut of meat or some scrap ribeye that are thinner. Ribeye is my favorite steak though, and I would never ruin a good high quality thick cut one for CFS. I rarely eat fried food these days, but it sure is good sometimes. tip: go on a monday to eat fried food at a restaurant, they usually change the grease on that day.

Not exactly THIS bad but my worst restaurant experience involved a very rude waiter and very slow service.
Lol...I've been to a lot of Asian restaurants where the waiter is rude. Usually if you're younger they'll speak down to you. If my mom or somebody older goes into a restaurant they get totally different service from me or my friends.
I must say sometimes I find rude people, particularly rude young people, charming.
I have that with cats too, I just love when a cat is being an asshole with me, like when I want to pet and get shunned like "fuck that!"
It tickles my funnybone when I'm in a good mood.
I'm super polite and painstakingly hold myself to a high standard of conduct but sometimes when people are not, thats fine with me too.

I still dont understand why we have so many places that do country cooking/soul food, that's the shit you make at home, why the fuck are you paying people to cook what you cook for yourself. come the fuck on people, live a little. have a caesar god damned salad or something. go to fucking olive garden or applbee's and splurge
Doesn't country cooking take a lot of effort though? I mean a lot of it is fried foods or slow roasted, I imagine it takes a really long time to cook Southern. I feel like it's easier to cook a Chinese dish or make tacos instead of cooking Southern recipes. Ribs, fried chicken, pork shoulder, pot roast... All this takes time and massive clean up.
I need to find a place that does country cooking well, you don't see many restaurants doing it out here. The only place I know of where you can get country fried steak is Denny's.
Does Boston Market count as country cooking? I like that place a lot.

toss a chunk of meat and some veggies into a crockpot or a pan and let the oven do the rest for 6 hours. dip some chicken in buttermilk, flour and toss it in a deep fryer and wait for the ding. open a #10 can and dump it into a steam table insert
less effort than most things when it comes to a restaurant

The lobster was even worst, looked real old, all dry and overcooked, no flavor, disgusting to the max.
shortly after eating some of it, i realised that diarrea was coming and coming fast. An hour after this awful mexican resturant, we had back to the hotel, which is like 2 miles away it seems.
On the way home, i had to shit VERY BAD. I thought i was going to shit my pants with liquid fire, it got VERY close during the walk. Luckily i got an ultra-tight butthole to keep it in
OMG you might have eaten a lobster that was dead before it was caught and not even realized it. If your lobster looks Grey or discolored even after cooking, it's a sign of decay.

Surprisingly I've had bad sushi from Morimoto, who is the Michelin star chef on Iron Chef who is supposedly the most difficult to beat.
It wasn't the fish that was bad, the fish was fine. But it wasn't the best, freshest fish I've ever had either. It was just... standard. But the rice was mixed in with a shitload of sesame seeds. It was hard and almost tasted like the rice was refrigerated (which is a big faux pais in sushi because it causes the rice to become very firm and tough).
Honestly the rice in those rolls tasted like I bought that fake refrigerated sushi with the imitation crab meat from Costco. And 75% of sushi is supposed to be all about rice, proper acidity and all that. It was a disappointing experience.
That guy has opened a lot of bad restaurants now that I think about it.
He also owns "Skewers" at LAX airport, granted airport food is notoriously known for being overpriced and bad, but this place even has 2 stars on Yelp which should tell you something: https://www.yelp.com/biz/skewers-by-morimoto-los-angeles
My friend tried this place, and he called it "Skewers of shit." Not only that but it was like $16 for 3 small skewers and rice that wouldn't even fill you up.
That guy needs to be watching restaurants that he opens under his name more closely, because AFAIK his establishments are a joke.

I have to be in the right mood to fry something, the prep takes a long time, and there's always massive clean-up afterward.
What are some secrets to making really soft and tender fried chicken though?
There's this place called Roscoe's, that's my favorite fried chicken and waffles spot. Their waffles are soft as pancakes, and their fried chicken is so tender and moist and falls off the bone. I don't know how they do it.

It's true, I don't know how to fry foods. For the longest time I'd usually get somebody else to do the actual frying while I made the rest of the meal.
