It could be stated, "Negativity loves company"

I notice, for example at work, when employees are pissed off, they want to get others angry also.

Calvin once said "Nothing helps a bad mood like spreading it around"

Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, not that fuck who started a religion.

yeah, i would say that is a better approximation. now that i makes me think. negativity loves a mirror neuron reaction, it seems; self-validation?

anyways, i should say also, that a better word than offended, would be hurt; in terms of a addressing the ego, that is, the ego with it's defences presuming on an inexplicably derisive, scornful, or dainty level.

i would just note that no one is above the fray when it comes to the natural reaction of the ego trying to finds it's place, in terms of ones own identity, even though it causes problems, presumably, the fact is, it's a necessary tool to function in society with other human beings.

things need to make sense, or else they don't make sense. this is how the ego operates. once that's known, it's easier to comprehend and work with the actions people take -- but you gotta ask yourself, is it worth it getting involved. alot of the time, one might find, it is not.

Yes, the ego seeks validation.

Tell an angry coworker their grievance is trivial, and they'll find a more compatible ear to gripe to.

yes, yes, yes, the ego seeks validation. obviously. that's what humans do. seek validation. without that, we're lumps of meat.

So if I abandon the urge to seek validation, I'm not human?

I'm just a lump of meat?

I hope I'm prime rib.

define human. is the innate animal? or is it the psyche within the animal, or it's thoughts?

either way...you won't abandon the urge to seek validation, seeing as though you'll always have your own validation to work towards.

or did you forget that you were alive? meh. either way. prime rib it is, i guess.

and my ego (and your's) is what is leaving me (and you and I ourselves together as our own personages) able to identify as one naturally is.

there's nothing wrong with the ego. what you have a problem with is it's identity to the man, instead of in accordance to a higher purpose.

the higher purpose, however, is the man.

the man isn't without his own divinity, also.

let go. letting go, in perpetuity, is realizing there is nothing out of place...including the ego.

I don't claim ego is "bad" or to be destroyed.

But so many delusions are based in ego, it's critical to understand it.

Yes, our species would not have survived without our ego.

i'd wager those so-called 'delusions' are more like paradoxes than anything else.

The most common human delusion is when we believe we bear no responsibility for our problems.

We are good at pointing a finger.    Nobody wants to look in the mirror.

Boo hoo. That sick feeling you experience is generated by YOU.

People who get easily offended/trolled are the sickest of them all.

I'M not experiencing a "sick feeling," I'm evaluating sick fucks who are demeaning, dismissive, defaming, and destructive of community. You seem to have have issues with your own feelings, which is why you attempted to lay your own trip on me. "Boo hoo?" Apparently you have had your own feelings hurt sufficiently to feel self-contempt, and then you attempt to project your contempt onto me. I'm not owning any of it! It's your bad trip, not mine. Being sensitive is an asset and an indicator of emotional health, not sickness, and expecting to be regarded with respect is normal. Armoring oneself with a 'tough guy' persona is a defense-mechanism, but lashing out like you've done in addressing me perfectly illustrates the very point I was making. :yesnod: Sorry you feel bad, but don't take it out on me. :nono:

It was a good day yesterday, no sissues with my feelings. I'm giving back what you put out - judgement. You're always judging and talking shit about others, and that's the main reason why I give you so much flack.

A lot of these old fogies went their whole lives with nobody to test their patience and beliefs... we're on an interesting path.

You can tell when some people have spent their entire lives lecturing and talking down to others. They can't handle being challenged.

Seems there are might be many undefined assumptions, and conflicting definitions of ‘validation’, ‘being human’, and ‘ego’, before one even gets to how they relate.

Some view ego as self esteem & think it wonderful, others view ego as the filter we attempt to disable with etheogens.
If we take the later viewpoint, then self validation is a mechanism by which the ego maintains its limited view & ascendancy over  a more expanded ‘reality’.

Linda Blanchard discusses it in her book:
“Dependent Arising In Context: the Buddha's core lesson, in the context of his time and ours”
