I didn't say people trolling on Facebook. Facebook itself is a troll , the people who maintain , moderate invest in it. Social Media is making people Anti Social.
And I disagree, Facebook is full of dumbshits and unlike people trolling anonymously they are way more dangerous too humanity because its a universally accepted and visited platform now. Meaning the dumbshits gathered an army.

My friend this is just the beginning. Keep in mind Facebook recently like a year or two ago bought out Occulus Rift which was the leader developer of Virtual Technology for 3billion dollars.
Look at what this clever fool is talking about for our future.

And by the way Facebook is awesome if you use it from the other side, i.e own a business or something like this , you can literally pay them to source out customers/fans for people who have the same interests as what you are trying to sell, kind of similar to how you can pay google to bring your website higher up on the searches.
Arghhhhh... and the kids they think they are going to put an end to capitalism through social media, they really have absolutely no fucking idea whats going on because the majority are using the new age set of tools as consumers.
I really am starting to feel old.

I've been trolling Ken M style on a reddit sub that is so full of ridiculous negativity. I post stuff that sounds stupid, and negative creeps jump my shit like nobody's business. Then I post the punchlines later. I get off on the humor of my own jokes. And maybe it brings to people's attention that everything they perceive online isn't necessarily exactly the way they first interpreted it. Ken M is the master of the art of trolling.
I often want to troll people on Facebook. Because that's when people really expose their whacked out beliefs on religion and politics and conspiracy theories. But I don't because it's not anonymous. But when people post stupid shit like anti-vaxx stuff, I just want to drop some science on them and watch them and their little friends wig out.
I want to troll people irl too. I mean, I get impulses to inject my commentary into all sorts of situations where it's not appreciated. I get all sorts of impulses and thoughts though. I think you'd call that ADHD. I often think about other things when people are speaking directly to me. I wish people could be sped up. If people spoke in 2x speed it would be a lot more interesting to listen to.

That's kinda how it feels to me. What changed it for you?
I still kind of think it's an Evil Force.
But like most things, it's not black and white, and I see some good in it. Not much, but some.

If there is any merit in FB, it's the same merit we find here at The Shroomery.
You can connect with people. Yes, if you use it a lot, it can make you feel disconnected.
It depends on how you use it and if you let it control your life.

Happy people do not communicate strife to other people. There are a lot of profoundly unhappy people on the planet for very good reasons in the 'developing nations': incomprehensible poverty, no basic survival needs being met (clean water, or water at all, no shelter or food), brutally oppressive political regimes, epidemic disease, etc. Then there are those in the 'developed nations' to which I don't hesitate to assume that Every Shroomerite belongs. Those who are sufficiently unhappy that they want to visit their unhappiness on others are suffering from some form of psychopathology.
For example, the racists and bigots here suffer, and suffer the rest of us to experience their paranoid ideation. Paranoia is Janus-faced - inflationary and persecutory. Some have more of one than another. The former aspect makes the paranoiac believe that he is superior, and in fact, he feels he is is SO special that 'they' are out to get him. We only hate what we fear. This can occur in individual schizophrenia, paranoid type, but there is a psychic contagion that can include one other, Folie à deux, or three people -folie à deux, or four - folie à quatre, a family - folie en famille, or a cult (like white supremacist movements) or even a whole nation (like Nazi Germany) - folie à plusieurs ("madness of many").
Sometimes mental illness has quantifiable biochemical causes, as in drug-induced psychoses. There has never been a biochemical discovered as the causative basis of mental illness - correlates yes, causative no. But, whole nations can go mad and the madness is rooted in social and psychological aspects of the individual. How did every Nazi party member drop their Christian values so readily and adopt Nazi ideology which was absolutely psychopathic in its cold sadistic callousness, absence of empathy, conscience, and remorse? Psychopathy/sociopathy operates on lesser levels. Check out the book The Sociopath Next Door by Martha Stout. https://archive.org/details/TheSociopathNextDoor She describes the trolls you refer to along with those who steal or sabotage co-worker's work, people who routinely steal their neighbor's newspapers, deliveries, etc. or poison their neighbor's dog. At some point, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Paranoid Personality Disorder, Sadistic Personality Disorder, and probably others, all line up with the same behaviors at the lower end of the psychopathy spectrum, and this accounts for the much of the malevolent sick comments and trolling right on these forums.
People with a poorly developed moral compass can jump on a bandwagon of obnoxiousness or increasing malevolence.Scroll down to "Scale and Criminals" and look at Michael Stone's categories of psychopathy at the higher end of the continuum which are not merely malicious, but malevolent and criminal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_Evil

It is the ego that gets offended. Thus, as we can observe, the posters that get the most offended here are also the most egotistical.

oversimplification. it's good to have passion. sometimes passion can be mistaken for offence. to be offended, you need more than mere exasperation or annoyance, you need literal upset, unhappiness, and anger.
thus passion can be concluded to be egotistical; though is the being egocentric always being "egotistical", to the extent to where one's ego is blustering so that it tends to have a truly negative effect, as opposed to just an effect of getting passionately involved in something, with no real affect of offence. that is to say, that egotism shouldn't necessarily be equated to an unhealthy narcissism. ie, how annoyed one is is, mayhaps, a good determination. subtle annoyance over things that are clearly annoying is a pretty natural reaction, and a healthy one. i'd suspect there is a evolutionary concern with becoming frustrated, or flustered, by certain people and certain things.

assuming misery isn't a necessary counter-part to having positive emotions at all. there is a thing called melancholy you know.
you know, this is the problem with not inventing any new epigrammatic sayings, the old ones slowly become useless platitudes, in contemporary understanding.
as it goes, it ain't no secret for the New Romantics, we express ourselves in an unaffected way.
