Need ID on Irish mushrooms found in field
    #23644845 - 09/14/16 02:45 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Hi guys, I was out fishing earlier today when I came across these bad boys. Apologies in advance for my lack of knowledge on the subject and the terrible photo quality.

Habitat:
These mushrooms were found in a field that was freshly cut for grass. It's bordering a lake and the mushrooms themselves were about 15 meters from the water but it seemed to be dry grassy land they were growing in. There's no cattle in that particular field but there was piles of cow manure about 10 meters away from them. They were also about 2 meters away from the sade of trees.

Gills:
The gills seemed to run straight from the edge of the cap to the stem and do not curve in or out. They were a light grey colour.

Stem:
I couldn't see the stem because the caps were covering them and I didn't want to break any shrooms so I would image that it was no more than an inch high.

Cap:
The diameter of the biggest one was around 8cm in diameter and was a pale creamy white colour. The edges aren't perfectly round. The smaller, younger ones are light brown in colour with a big nipple on the top. They appear to be convex and circular. The texture is firm.

Spore print color:
Didn't pick it.

Bruising:
None.

Other information:
They were growing in a little patch with some dry grass. There was also another smaller patch of shrooms about a meter away. In regards to the weather it's been very humid, rainy and warm.

Once again apologies for the terrible photos, I'll try and snap more when I can!https://files.shroomery.org/files/16-37/388568427-DSC_0034.jpg][/url]
