-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

They're assholes, generally very ignorant and rarely funny
Enjoy the show by all means though

I'm just kidding lol feel free to dislike it (not that you need my permission ), it's definitely not the type of show/humor that's for everyone, IMO though the only true asshole is Cartman, other then that they generally convey some type of positive message throughout the show.
@musiclover I am excited as hell for it, for some reason I thought it was coming out in october till a friend text me about it earlier today

Who, the makers of south park? Why on earth would you loath some of the best makers of political and social commentary/ satire...Quote:

Give us one example of what they are ignorant about? If anything they have brought attention to countless ignorant groups of people

I'd rather not get into a debate over various instances of their toilet humor
Definitely don't see anything remotely insightful about their shtick
Turning on the news and making lewd fart jokes about everything you see, isn't difficult. Shit I've known quite a few people who are very good at roasting like that, the makers of South Park are not.

How much southpark have you even watched? They definitely aren't just:

All of their stuff on religion is very insightful, as well as a lot of great stuff about politics, celebrities and media, and a ton of other stuff.
I would say they are one of the most relevant and insightful shows on TV in many ways. Too each his own but you sound very biased

The whole last season was mostly dogshit in my opinion, season 11-17 were by far my favorite and a few others scattered throughout, really just depends on current events at the time and their play on them.....they definitely started off as mostly shit and fart jokes though, even matt and trey have admitted that
Absolute best show to watch while tripping IMO too.
Edit: fun fact, the creation of terrance and phillip was a representation of matt and trey because a prank they used to do was going around to high up parties and walking behind celebrities while they were sitting down and farting on their heads while the other one took pictures as they did it

Yeah I am not denying the lewd/ low brow humor it just seems many don't look past that and see all the brilliant social commentary which is very well done.

I didn't like the last season either at first but I re watched it in one go and found it much more funny. More then any other season the episodes flow into each other so watching them back to back makes it seem like one giant episode that is pretty much entirely satire, all the PC stuff is pretty damn well done and it has some random stuff too like the ad stuff which I found hilarious

Not sure, I watched it for years as a teenager, seen a few episodes here and there since.
Seen a few of their movies as well, I'll admit Team America was hilarious, but the rest is generally bs.

Do you think they are dumb just for the low brow humor? Because that is pretty much everywhere at this point, at least southpark is original with it usually.
Have you seen the Scientology or Mormon episodes? They really do a great job summing up and making fun of a ton of current happenings.
The cash for gold episode is another one of my favorites, and the Super Bestfriends David Blaine episode

Nah, humor is another story. The Mormon episode was actually on my mind as an example, their message is just slander.

hope pc principal isn't going to have a big part again for this season, they should kill him off tonight and be done with the running gag, he got more annoying than funny by the end of his first appearance, he's just the same joke over and over, i hate him so much

Thanks for the reminder! I think it can be a hit or miss sometimes, but when it's on point it's on point.
Enough so that I'm gonna go run errands and grab dinner and make sure I'll hook up the tv I've been using as a my second monitor back up so I can watch it.
Wish my projector was up and running, but alas, the replacement lamp's not coming from amazon till tomorrow.
@Repetoire, what makes you think the Mormon episode was slander?
iirc south park has been praised by groups like the Tourette Association of America for their portrayal of it in their show, and while it's far from high brow humor, it has it's place.
However, I was not a huge fan of the last season. I dislike PC principal as well.

FWIW, I do like your avatar
But yes, I agree completely. He should've been a one episode sorta character.
