What Helps Your Anxiety the Most?

What's up everyone, first I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been a member here on the Shroomery for about four years and only recently have I started my first grow and become involved in the forums.
So I am curious what have you found to be the most effective method(s) of treating your general anxiety?
I first had BAD anxiety in college and since graduating it is WAAY better and at many times non-existsent. Unfortunately I have been treating my mild anxiety with kratom for about a year now and we all know kratom is about to kick the bucket, legally speaking anyways. It's all good though, kratom makes me kinda slow and I've been wanting to curb the habit for a while now. I only take about 5-8g a day so I've basically been using it medicinally and quitting shouldn't be too crazy.
I'd appreciate any ideas! Anything from lifestyle practices to supplementation is welcomed. I really love enjoying life anxiety free as I really don't tolerate it well, so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Dammit Sheekle, that's the exact answer I wanted to hear.
Haha seriously tho, I desperately need to increase my intake of psychedelics. Part of the reason I started growing. Damn college and work now has been too much, need to let loose more and keep my perspective in check. This I am aware of.
Thanks desant & Mad, all good and logical answers lol. I could also definitely use more exercise and dome. I mean who couldn't?

I guess it depends on what triggers your anxiety. If you just feel anxiety without cause try some Tianeptine and or Phenibut. These are both legal for now. These are both hard hitters. If you have a legit source, there is no question, You will feel it working. I'm loathe to recommend any drugs where it cannot be distinctly felt. There are so many supps where you wouldn't know if it was a sugar pill.

Fosho, yea my anxiety is pretty mild now a days and much of the time I know why I'm stressed and then there are times when I just feel sort of hypertensive and shit for no apparent reason. Like some sort of physiological effect from who the fuck knows what, which is why I was curious about some supps that have helped others. I don't need any hard drugs such as benzos it aint that bad lol.
Goddammit I should have known better to start this thread LOL. You fuckers are hilarious and not helpful at all

Kratom and cannabis are my two favorite vices, they melt anxiety and depression away and can help me think clearer about the source of my anxiety.
After that diet and exercise play the biggest roles I would say.

Usually staying off all drugs, including coffee, or any sugary products, even laying off meat for awhile, basically just a healthy diet, usually helps a lot with my anxiety. Having to deal with horrible anxiety all these years tho I've learned to keep it under control for the most part, so I can go back to smoking weed even tho It may trigger anxiety, cuz I'll will know how to cope with it for the most part..
But yea man, no drugs, and def exercise, and def eat healthy. Three steps to a anxiety free lifestyle.

Thanks z! I know what you mean about learning to manage. College was a massive learning curve, but now that's its all said and done I can manage almost all of my anxiety. I'm just kind of a baby when it comes to stress and anxiety and therefore try to eradicate it from my life as much as is possible. But of course it is just a part of life that must be accepted.
Honestly like many of yall have said, I prolly could really benefit from more exercise. It is hard after working a full day of physical labor though, especially in the summer heat down here in the south. FUCK its hot.

Alcohol, easily. In terms of actually trying to rectify the trigger; meditation and mantras. They help immensely and that sharp focused state of mind goes a long way for a lot of other things too.

The tough physical labor should suffice as a workout me thinks.. Working, especially when it is labor driven, helps to get me out of my head, which usually helps with my anxiety ime..
I'd still try to fit In a few sit-ups and push-ups every now and then tho

observing the discontinuance of caffeine use, (and thus saving said use for infrequent occasions) and thus conserving ATP stores, could help with anxiety, as well.
sounds like an interesting combination with L-theanine, though...but lowering caffeine intake to minimum is probably a good factor in decreased anxiety.

I do like l-theanine. It was very helpful while in school. Haven't taken any since, thanks for reminding me of that one 404. Any recommendations for a good quality/price product? I remember reading back in the day that is thenaine was actually a racemic mixture then it massively reduced the oral bioavailability.

Acid and mushrooms helped me in the long term.
Exercise helps too.
Meditation and yoga are extremely valuable tools - having the presence of mind to realize when you're starting to escalate shit in your head so that you can breathe, and bring yourself back down. You've gotta learn how to shut that shit down, and it's my opinion(as someone who has had ptsd and dealt with some incredibly terrible panic attacks and flashbacks that kept me up for many nights) that if you rely on anti-anxiety meds to do that then it's much harder to learn to do on your own. That being said, I wouldn't blame anyone for using them - it's agonizing, and it took me many many sleepless nights to learn how to talk myself down. In social situations it's a bit easier for me, but sometimes I still get a little anxious - not particularly though, once you realize that the only one that really gives a fuck about what you're doing is you it becomes so much easier to not give a fuck. And once you give less fucks(I wouldn't give them ALL up, but with anxiety you certainly need to refocus where you give your fucks)

Fun fact: l-theanine is found naturally along with caffeine in tea leaves. L-theanine completely removes the jitters from caffeine and they go hand in hand synergistically. I've used theanine to deal with anxiety from come downs, weed and other drugs like amps, and for general anxiety. stuff legitimately works.
-op, there are places on the clearnet that sell it for cheap in bulk, i've just been using stuff from the supplement isle in stores.
@ pb - i agree with gaba meds as they are often more detrimental to the body and aren't usually long term treatment options. I feel different about that supplement though

3 hours per week of physical activity greater than walking. Even going out and doing short sprints 2 or 3 times a week on a field will fix you right up. No further than 30 or 40 feet, wait until you're fully rested, do it again, stop when you start slowing down. Easy.

All great advice! Thanks everyone.
I don't have a problem with benzos, they have medicinal value and I've even been prescribed them in college. Never really used them except for a few bad anxiety episodes in school. Mostly just sold them for extra cash. I understand how they can help people, but I personally don't like the side effects and don't feel that my anxiety is nearly bad enough to take them. Never felt any addiction towards them either.
I understand what my main anxiety triggers are and mostly have them under control using techniques such as mindfulness, as mentioned by Pirate. What I was mainly inquiring about is supps and techniques to deal with mild anxiety that has no apparent cause. Occasionally I feel sort of hypertensive for no apparent reason so I was just curious to see what others have experimented and found success with. Honestly I'm sure I just need to exercise more and eat better lol.
Always interested in how people manage stress. If it was a perfect world I'd be a zen monk with zero worries hahaha. I think part of the reason I'm so intolerant of anxiety is because before college I had literally never experienced it, seriously. So that time in my life where I remember being stress free isn't that long ago.

Trying really hard not too.
Before zippoz passed I was prescribed:
400 mg butalbitol 30 mg flexiril 10 mg ambien 4 mg klonopin
A day.
After he passed away I immediately decided to stop. I started with the ambien first. Been off that since may. Then I moved to the butalbitol. Been off that since the end of june.
Now I just take the klonopin and flexiril.
Flexiril is next.
I won't stop taking the klonopins until I can smoke herb again. I would rather be dependent on something than go what I go through when I have a break down, and everyone who interacts with me socially agrees that I am a lot more "bearable" when medicated. However, my sex life has been hideous since I got on these meds. When I am just smoking weed and doing my normal lifestyle, I am overall very very happy and have a great social life.

Same, my social anxiety completly vanished after I stopped weed.
Also paychedelic and anxiety is pretty horrible combo, its like you have a 50% chance it's gonna be worst for ever or you'll be good for a couple of weeks.

That's because they're using the wrong substances, imo. I know RCs have a bit of a rap with some people but I honestly believe that as a tool of therapy they need to be addressed and properly recommended based on people's circumstances.

I found that exercise helps my anxiety for about 1-3 hours after a moderate/hard effort, but after that I am back to being socially inept.
Taking care of yourself can help ease some of your anxiety, because you will feel better about yourself in the long run. You don't have to be a model on the cover of a magazine, just do something everyday to work some muscle group, and I promise you will feel much better about yourself.
Do new things too, read new books, explore new ideas, keep fresh thoughts in your mind, which will help keep the negative thought at ease for a bit because you will be engrossed in learning something new.

A good friend offered me some advice that has been working. Just breathe and be aware of your breathing, deep breaths, count the time between breaths and give yourself at least a full second between them. To me, anxiety can happen for various reasons, some I don't understand, but I catch myself expecting to have it and therefore starting the process myself. Being a cynical person in general gives me more anxiety, expecting the worst, etc. I used to accept that about myself, and I don't know if it's even possible to "cure" that, but it's worth trying. Also, for me, letting things slide that would otherwise normally elicit even just a negative thought response from me or whatever. That kind of shit is essential or you'll be a wad of nerves.
Benzos and drugs work nicely to help soothe the effects but they don't address the actual root of the problem and I am kind of hoping for some long term healing with this process.

For me it really depends on what causes my anxiety.
If it's just general awfulness and whatnot: breathwork and meditation. With a didgeridoo I can do both while making music.
Work stress: cannabis. Not a lot of it, just enough to let all the stress flow out of your body while you do something unproductive like watching cartoons or painting space Ork miniatures.

Weed helps my anxiety the most.
The difference between:
to THIS
is literally 1 draft off a joint and 10 minutes away.
Cannabis gives me an instant angina pectoris attack and thois triggers an all out panic attack caused by the traumatic experience of habing had an early age heart attack at 30.
So cannabis "helps" my anxiety most. It causes it more than anything will.

RC's have little to no research often times though and seem even riskier.
Mushrooms are medicinal as is ayahuasca, they both benefit the brain.
We have no way of knowing if RC's will have positive and or negative health effects...

Pharmacologically speaking, the serotonergic and adrenergic mechanisms of action are pretty similar across hallucinogens for the most part, and the therapeutic value like comes from there. People suferring from depression have been shown to have an over abundance of 5ht2a receptors, and most of these hallucinogens are partial agonists, and work to decrease the expression of or downregulate these receptors. Stimulation of certain norepinephrine circuits in the locus coeruleus may help to stimulate sensations of 'novelty' and in doing so may be therapeutic by making the sessions more meaningful (the latter part of this is more speculative)

Yeah but they have drastically different effects on the mind and body even if most have some things in common. Dox and Nbomes come to mind.
I am sure many RC's will be found to have different unique medicinal effects down the line but for now I don't think anything can replace mushrooms or aya.
Maybe 4 aco or something is close but even then without researching showing it has the same benefits we have no way of knowing for sure.
And we have no way of knowing what downsides they may have aside from the obvious issues that quickly become apparent (Dox and Nbomes once again )

Flip those around for me, I'm the exact polar opposite. I don't really get "panic attacks" per se but I can get really on the edge sometimes and a couple tokes is all it takes to completely mellow me down and completely change my mindset. It's the best medicine I have ever found. I literally cannot even comprehend anxiety or anger when I am baked. It just melts away.

Yea, I can relate. When I was young, smoking melted every imaginable problem and amount of stress away and turned it into something inconceivable. Then I took a long break in college, like three year break from smoking to get my degree. Now, I can still enjoy smoking, just not like I used to. My tolerance is so low now and for some reason just a couple tokes too much is just that, too much. I become very anxious and irritable. Its all good though, it is what it is. Quite interesting tho, when I was younger, smoking would never make me anxious, no matter how much I smoked and smoked and smoked and smoked.....

Never heard of it.
And to all those who have recommended exercise, diet, and meditation. I couldn't agree more. These are ll things I try to incorporate into my life, but know I could do better and use more of. I personally agree that even natural entheogens can throw your system out of wack. I only use such substances as tools on carefully planned occasions, but when I do, it has always been a highly beneficial/therapeutic experience.
