pressure cooker VS electric Pressure cooker
    #23644566 - 09/14/16 12:53 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Does anyone use an electric pressure cooker for mycology?
I need a new one and was wondering if I should just get an electric one

From what I have read there are pros and cons. Automated but lower PSI meaning longer cycles. Most people tend to use the regular kind. And I have nothing bad to say about my AA. Sure it was expensive- but totally worth it in My Opinion.

If you've got the budget ... go for the All American.

If not, go for a Presto.

But either way, I recommend using a pressure canner instead of a pressure cooker.

The big issue I have with pressure cookers is that they're typically much smaller and that is a big deal when you're looking to run 8 bags and can only do 1 at a time.

I'm currently using an electric pressure cooker and wish I had something with bigger capacity.

I have only my self and one other person too grow for. I'll probably only do a bulk grow once-twice a year if that. So I'm looking at the AA 915 which can hold 7 quart jars. Its more than enough for what I need too do.

If you're looking at the AA consider a 921 you can fit 10 qrts of grain in one. Don't think they are that much more.

Hound Craigslist for an AA 25x or bigger.  They turn up. It's where I've bought 3.

The hot plate is only 1/4 of it. I spent another $150 to run the bitch

And i have made the rocker conversion as mentioned. Both pc's are using the presto style rocker. And you can see i already did the spring mod as well.

Are those videos on your YouTube page Gr0wer? I'd like to see the information you provide but alas I am on iPhone and Apple and Flash still haven't gotten over their childhood spat.
