So I just went to Chik fil A and I walked up to the order window(yes this Chik fil A is an unusual one in that it doesn't have a dining room and it also has a double drive through) but there was this lady bitching about how the worker at the window told her everything in her food was fine but the lady noticed something wrong. Started bitching about how "even one crumb could kill me." yep she said that. Started threatening to bring her hubby up there and shit. Do any of you guys have this allergy and do you think there's any truth to her claims?Discuss intelligently or not

Yeah, that lady is out of her mind. Unless she has another worst disease she can't die from it.
Trust me, I'm a landlord.

well if you've got Celiac you for sure won't die from coming into contact with gluten, however repeated exposure does lead to organ damage and eventually death from other complications in some cases, so while she was being crazy, it's not entirely false that gluten is somewhat 'dangerous' to certain individuals
still, bitch be crazy

People who eat gluten who can't eat it go to the hospital if they eat it. My coworker jonathan actually ate something and ended up in the ER he can't have gluten.

99% of people who don't eat gluten ime don't even really know what it is.
when i used to work in asian places they would all bitch then drown everything in soy sauce even though we had tamari in house, they didn't even know what and what doesn't have their nemesis in it.
true some people can't have it but i think it is a tiny fraction of the population as opposed to the number of people who are hypochondriacs.

Not necessarily.
My dad, ever since I was little, has been unable to eat anything with gluten in it. This was before anyone even knew about it and at that point he was avoiding anything with wheat in it. He doesn't need to go to the ER he just gets very sick to his stomach, like the running shits and stomach pain for a couple days.

dang that sucks I also recalled her saying something along the lines of" I just don't understand why people don't understand gluten intolerance down here but I though chik fil a was mainly a southern chain
just looked it up and see that's not the case

My dad actually hates talking about it and doesn't like burdening people with it. He's learned to navigate menus and just eat how he should to avoid getting sick.
