Spores on agar help
    #23643755 - 09/14/16 03:36 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hi here are some pics of some spores i put on agar PGA.
Both same species.
The two eye like holes in this one are from bits i moved the segement line confusing me.

Any discussion that can help me learn would be apreciated.
This pic is from the same print but different dish
Its strange how some mycelium is orderly but the other bit is all messy and confused. Whats going on here.

Transfer rice sized tiny bits of the organized groth.

FAE + Moves towards anything better tasting &+ temp changes..

But that's IMO not on Agar..

Next time drop the spores on a sterile cotton swab and swipe the plate in a zig zag pattern. It helps you pick clean growth... when you drop spores from a syringe the liquid can roll around and grow into bacteria or mold making it hard to seperate the two

A wire loop works too but I prefer cotton swabs for spores in solution

I've had myc form those weird lines before. Who knows why.
Probably some contam hitching a ride.
Stops happening a few transfers later.

See top right plate, these are from the dirtiest print I've had yet:
