3 days into fruiting and all looks sweet but the tops of my cakes , so the bottom of the jar now seem to be swelling ? that means that they gunna explode into a fat wad of GT's ...right ??
think i did ok for my first run ... zero infections had enough left in the syringe to inock some popcorn that's in the trays at the back they covered with the slightest casing layer
learnt all this on yuoutube from my willy myco man i hope that dude is ok been far to long by half !
please feel free to send advice my way

Ideally, you would want to fruit those in a properly made SGFC to get the best possible results. But, if you want to continue using that FC, then make sure you fan it out often and keep everything misted.

No problem. And also, you want to trim down that foil to just the base of the cakes, you want the perlite to do its job.

If I'm not mistaken, those popcorn cakes should have the casing 30% colonized before they are introduced into fruiting? Just info I've sifted out from reading searches.... Lots of reading and sifting.

Fanning isn't going to do jack for that FC. It needs actual FAE. Fanning is not a replacement for FAE.
I'd also ditch the gizmos on top. They will just confuse you more than they will help you.

Those poor things aren't going to be able to breath without some hols for FAE. just fanning is never enough. Imagine if someone put a plastic bag over your head and said, "No worries, its fine. I'm gonna pull this bag off every couple hours so you can breath." They will pin faster with fresh air as fresh air is a pinning trigger. As well, the fruits will be much larger if they have constant access to O2. O2 starved mushies get very thin and stick like. Otherwise, the cakes are looking quite nice!

o you cant see it in the photos but the clear section of the chamber is suspended 8mm OR 5/16" above the bottom giving a large area for FAE and under thE pearilite is just a total grate also electric fan mounted to the side a 1" computer fan blowing thought this more than covered the FAE ?
ass advised i cut back the foil but i dont know why its needed but i asked fo r the advice !
[image] [/image]
sKatebaord wheel bearings that are 5/16 or 8mm wide provide a gap all around the middle for FAE
[image] [/image]
tried hard to show the cloization of the caseing on the corn but yer dont kjnow if you can see at all ?

I'm not even sure where to start. Why is there perlite in a container with no holes in the bottom? Why worry about trimming the foil back where the perlite is in a container with no holes in the bottom? Why is the chamber using slate board bearings to provide a difficult to determine amount of FAE? Why case corn? Actually why corn? Why are you turning a bottle of H2O2 in to H2O? Why the electronics? Why is everything red?
Why?

H2O2 is unstable and rapidly converts to oxygen and H2O in the presence of light or heat. Hence the amber bottles it comes in. It's also essentially useless for mycology purposes. You appear to have an opaque spray bottle labeled H2O2 sitting in direct view of a large light setup.
I'm new to this too but I did my research and built a couple monotubs rather than winging it with what appears to be a weed cloning chamber.
Those cakes need to be fruited in a proper SGFC or the resultant mushrooms will be leggy and yields will be shite.
You should really also be using the built in image manager and uploader available to everyone that uses Shroomery: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/upload.php?action=upload
Read through this directory, especially the section about SGFCs and cakes: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19140341
Proper fruiting chambers are the fucking crux of mushroom cultivation.
I don't mean to sound rude with all of this, and I do truly wish you luck, but damn do some research beforehand.

thanks Mr greg i will do and yer its a weed cloning chamber that's what i had about "i didnt want to drill it full of holes so spaced it up 8mm 8mmx400x600mm gives me the equivalent of 192 1cm holes the spray bottle is h20 only as i have the same one with sanistar in it so marked it "H20 only" not h202 lol
and yer sure im up for a read at your advice

Holy shit I've never seen one that big (that's what she said) How old is it? Also the gap in you FC isn't equivalent to holes. I mean maybe in surface area can't be arsed checking the maths, but the air will flow through and I'd imagine in the top and bottom will sit a sort of vortex of stale air, don't take that as gospel just what I'm seeing in my mind
