I am dreading the upcoming winter as I have grown quite accustomed to riding my bike.
What gear do folks use to protect themselves from the elements?

One of these, trousers included:

She's good with just a T-shirt undearneath down to about 0c. But if you're talking about a pushbike, probably a bit too heavy for you.
A good Gore-Tex lightweight shell as an outer layer, and a moisture wicking base layer is probably what you need. Just have a look at what guys who climb mountains wear as a guide:

you mean motorbike, or bicycle?
I ride my bicycle year round, and even run outside in the winter, I swear one year I almost got frostbite on my penis though, seriously my dick was so cold when I came inside, could have used it in place of ice in a beverage.

gloves, hat, waterproof and ventable coat, and depending on the weather bandanna or face mask and sunglasses or possibly safety glasses you could be catching spray off the road from the front tire when going downhill. Gators are also good if the road is wet. Basically layers with waterproof/windproof stuff of the outside.

Please pardon my poor topic descriptions.
Looking to ride my bicycle more frequently this winter - not just the nice days. I can take care of most of my top portion I think sans the head.
What do folks wear for their legs -- layers and jeans - no thanks - I feel like jeans get caught in my chain more. What are good brands or designs of leggings?
How do you protect your face and head? Bandana for face? What about the cool slats that the helmet has that let air in?

you can fold/tuck the bottom of your pants legs and roll them up a couple times to reduce chain pants interaction. Or buy velcro cuffs/ straps that keep pant legs out of the way. Rubber bands are annoying and almost useless for this.
I have a fleece lined bandanna that ill carry in my pocket and wear when necessary. You want something that you can move/remove easily since face things get annoying when youre breathing hard into them.
I have some golite skateskiing snowpants ill wear when im snowbiking.
get water proof gloves that can go over or under your coat sleves. Also get some wet lube for your bike chain
