Worried about relapsing (OCD)
    #23642159 - 09/13/16 04:32 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

I've been medication free for two months because I want to cope naturally and be able to feel myself. I was on Zoloft 200mg, It started out alright but in the past couple of weeks my intrusive thoughts have been non stop everyday and my anxiety is extremely high, it's all so debilitating, I can't think straight and my cognitive functions seem fucked, like I literally feel unintelligent 90% of the time. I really don't want to get back on meds but I'm out of it in all aspects. The meds did nothing for me except numb me. thoughts?

I'd stay off the meds and keep pushing through.

Once the meds run their course you'll be able to think more clearly.

It sounds like your doing a good job just keep it up, and try to find some good hobbies that will take your mind of off things is a positive way.

If you are intent on trying to cope naturally, i would look into seeing a therapist who can help you with methods for coping that don't involve drugs.

That being said, if you can't get a handle on it, there is nothing wrong with taking medication that improves your life. I don't recommend denying yourself the meds based on societal stigma.

Wishing you the best of luck.
