ID Request - What is this little guy?
    #23641932 - 09/13/16 03:19 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:Found in my garden - south west UK patch of grass next to the stream. Haven't seen any mushrooms growing here before

Gills:Whitish, appear to attach at the top

Stem: 3-4cm, thin, couple of mm in diameter, hollow (I think) can be crushed

Cap: approx 1 cm across, brown, lightened up slightly as it dried, conical and convex

Spore print color:Brown to blackish, slightly purple (I only did a short one before I threw it out - I could probably grab another one tomorrow)

Bruising: No bruising as far as I can tell

I don't spray anything on my lawn and these sprung up pretty quickly as I've not seen any there before. Apologies for potato quality pictures my camera focus is busted

Can't really tell from the blurry pictures what you've got other than that it is probably either an Inocybe sp. or a Cortinarius sp.

It is probably toxic.

Please use a better camera and better lighting to get better identification. Preferably take in situ shots of the mushrooms before picking.
