Does this look infected to you?
    #23641896 - 09/13/16 03:08 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Peace. I'll try to explain what going on.

Cubensis spores via PF Tek.
Inoculated the jars and they grew. 7 jars died from contams though.
3 survived and survived well. Birthed, dunked, and rolled.

Put em in the SGFC and couldn't maintain humidity.

Relocated to a place with central air [as opposed to a window unit] and now humidity is gravy and my cakes are pinning nicely, though it has taken quite some time.

When I birthed the cakes they were all white. When I dunked them and pulled them out they had some blue spots. I figured it was just bruising from being in the bad and all that water, etc.

Like I said, they pinning quite nice, but my cakes seem to have a yellowish hue as opposed to everyone else's looking white. Do they look contaminated to you? Will my fruit still be edible?

they look fine to me. i'd keep them and trip hard on em. even if they turn really bad, you can dig them outside, thats BEST what you can do. shrooms would be fine, nature controls everything.

So basically you waited 3 hours before you bumped? Rules are wait 24 hours. Yes there's generally 10-20 people viewing before someone says anything, because there's lurkers who want to learn.

Also he meant that you can bury it outside, and still harvest fruits. Like this:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21856836 my last years contam pile.

Basically this link should be your answer:

The middle of your cakes are too blurry to make it out if it's mold or not, which is why I made that thread, so people like you can compare.

I think hes talking about the bruising on the sides of the cake. Which is usually caused by low humidity and drying of the cake. In some of the pictures the bruising does have that contam look but I still believe its only bruising. How ever there are better trained eyes than mine.

Can you post a picture of the areas of concern that is well focused?

Yeah it needs to be in focus for an accurate diagnosis. Definitely not healthy tho regardless.

Exactly. Just bury them outdoors, so they can fruit there, if temp is okay for them
