ID Request - Psilocybe cubensis???
    #23641533 - 09/13/16 01:01 PM (7 years, 4 months ago)

Hey, So I found these while exploring a field earlier, they were just growing out of the side of a hay bale, near Manchester, UK.

Can someone ID them for me? Hoping they're Psilocybe cubensis but after closer look I'm not so sure because of the cap

They're not. You won't find any growing in the wild in the UK, either.

I'm not sure what it is, but a spore print may help. The gills say Agaricus, but the cap looks atypical for that genus.

All hope is not lost. If you're after actives, check the stickied threads in this forum for more information on how to locate active mushrooms in your area. :super:

:goodluck:

Do some research on Psilocybe semilanceata. You may also consider looking for Psilocybe cyanescens when it's a few degrees colder and also Panaeolus cinctulus. My gut tells me P. semilanceata is your best chance of success where you are.
