Using ph 7 buffer in casing layer instead of cal. carb.?

I was wanting to get some calcium carbonate for my casing layers but seems like this would work as a buffer. I know it's not necessary to ph balance a casing layer but I want to make sure contams have less of a chance to start. I feel like it would take the guess work on how much cal. carb. to use for smaller amounts of casing material. Add some of this which is already right at 7, don't know how much.
Ingredients are phosphate monbasic (used in foods), sodium hydroxide (lye), and water.

There's a reason you can leave buffer out for a week and nothing grows on it.
If you're "actually" worried about pH this much with casing layers then you must have everything else absolutely perfectly dialed in. Maybe just use a keep it simple stupid coir or verm casing or none at all

I haven't used a casing layer before but I read on here that ph and pastuerizing are the only defenses a casing layer has. I just want to get it right as possible before I try it. Although I know most of you TC's just slap some coir and verm on there willy nilly. Probably just overthinking this.

Guidelines on use? Like percentage to use by volume of casing material or something like that? I searched and I'm having a hard time finding anything
