This thread is a memorial to the golden age of kratom thats finally coming to an end for a lot of the world (and already has for many parts of the world).
Such sad sad news this truly is, I did 6g of some enhanced leaf today and its sad the month is almost half over already.

Nearly 3 years ago kratom saved my life.
It was such a blessing. I literally felt like I had my life back after managing chronic illness for 4 years. Other meds just made me sicker. Living like that made me feel like I lived for nothing but a light in the tunnel that I could not see and could only hope was there. It came in the form of that magical little leaf.
Now I fear I will fall back into darkness.

Bad advice, imo. Poppy tea is pretty addictive, and pods are costly (at least compared to what they once were). I just don't think it's a good idea on principle, going from kratom to opium, but obviously I don't know the details of Cookie Crumbs's situation. Maybe that'd work for her, but on the whole, I don't agree that kratom --> pods is a step in the right direction.

Krat is afaik safe. Poppies aren't and can cause lethal overdoses - i am not aware of any kratom related deaths.

I've definitely thought about it. And I may end up resorting to it. But I think that would be my very last resort.
Right now I'm looking at combining physical therapies with other plant based medicines. It won't be as easy, or likely as effective as kratom but I can't see it not at least helping some.

Kratom will still be available just like everything else.
Vendors will just raise their prices.

Most will, undoubtedly. There will be a couple dumbasses who will try to do private sales on the d/l. I already know of one who is seriously pressing his luck that way because he ships out of Denver, a city where busts have already been authorized and krat vendors have been forced to shutter.
There will be some domestic sales for a couple months through private means, the darknet & such, but the days of people bringing in 10 ton shipments are over, and anyone ordering from outside the country is taking a major risk.
Makes me wonder what's going to happen in the international scene. With the American market done for, it'll probably play out in one of two ways: krat prices will bottom out in SE Asia because harvesters will be desperate to offload stock, making it cheaper around the globe, OR, the harvesters will raise prices to compensate for all the lost market. It'll be interesting to see. Krat economics.

The black market almost always raises the prices of illicit things. The risk is higher, therefore profit increases.

And to answer your question, connoisseur: as someone who has spent an embarrassing amount of his adult life addicted to opiates, I don't recommend that anyone get involved with them for long term use. Short term is understandable in certain scenarios, like broken bones or extracted wisdom teeth maybe. A small, finite script then. But unless you're terminal, an open ended infinite regimen of opiates invariably leads to addiction and the accompanying problems thereof. Probably best to look into other means of treatment wherever possible.

In my last paragraph, I wasn't referencing a black market, but rather legal markets in places like Canada & Europe. I should've clarified that.

I still cant believe this shit is coming to an end.. It had a good run and i really didnt see this coming.
Kratom is a favorite drug of mine. All i can be thankful for is that i only have 4 more months of probation to get through now, then ill be able to reconnect with my good old friend marijuana.
The day i run completely out of kratom will truly be a sad day where ill be reminiscing of the good old kratom days.

I think the market will raise prices a degree to make up for the loss of the U.S.A market at first and depending on the demand keep it up as long as they can.
How many kratom suppliers from source areas are there?
