So I have this mono tub going. An its been in fruiting for about a week now with no signs of pins. I fae three times a day, temp is around 75 and I mist multiple times a day on the sides of the tib, nothing directly on the growth. Idk whats wrong or what I did wrong (if anything). Again any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

First of all FAE should be happening 24/7 during fruiting. It's passive. You don't give FAE. If you wanted to you would have to fan it 10 times an hour. This is why we put holes in tubs.
Second, you don't most monotubs. They're automated, you don't do anything until harvest you built it right... And in fruiting chambers that you do mist with, you mist directly on your substrate(growth). Not the sides. The sides don't grow, they're plastic.
Follow directions, or show us which ones you followed so we can try to delete them

Sometimes it takes more than a week for pinning to start. Post a pic if you can. I'd like to see what your tub looks like. You can probably salvage what you've got as long as the substrate isn't contaminated.

Ok I have holes in it covered in tyvek, I read that fanning it a couple times a day helps. So thats what I mean. It has a good bit of moisture.

Ok here we are, had to figure out how to convert it from JPG to PDF. There are no signs of contams, at least to my eye. There is ONE spot that looks like it MIGHT be starting to pin trying to get a close up on it now. will post if i can get it.

Well the glaring error I see is that there aren't any holes in the tub. Get a 1.5" hole saw and drill 1 on each end near the top, and 2 on each side, about 4 inches from the bottom and 3 inches from the end. Running the drill in reverse makes super clean holes. Once your holes are drilled stuff them with polyfill, lightly on the top holes and tightly in the bottom holes. It's not enough to just open the tub several times a day for FAE. It has to be constant. I'd also not mist it anymore until it starts looking dry. You've got a chance at salvaging it.
Edit: I read that you have holes but I didn't see them, and tyvek doesn't let enough air through to give actual FAE. I covered the polyfill above

ok, the picture didnt show the holes, but they are there. However I dont have holes in the bottom because the mixture would either soak up the poly or leak out the holes. So you think that replacing the tyvek with poly fill would help? I can see where the tyvek wouldnt let as much air through as polly. I will stop misting, its just frustrating this is the third attempt of mine at growing. My jars are always healthy and the last 2 times I got REALLY bad contams when I went to fruit. IDK what i was doing wrong... I would sterilize my tub and would lay down verm/coir, then my sub, then another layer of verm/coir. wait until the myc had started poking through then initiate fruiting, everytime before this it would show no sign of pins for about 1.5-2 weeks. Then all of a sudden BAM!!!! Green everywhere!!! I dont understand it, I am fudging up somewhere. I boil my water then pour it into my verm coir mix like the tek showed on here and use alcohol to wipe down my chamber then be off from them. This one seems to be doing well except the only thing that scares me is, again its not fruiting and Im scared that nasty green crap will start popping out. If it does i think I am going to try my hand at PF cakes, and wait until I have that down pat. I just am lost man, no idea what is going wrong.

Well, there's that whole "Not following the Tek" thing that you did.
That was pretty wrong...

Not tracking what you mean. Ive read grow logs where the individuals said to put a good inch of the casing on bottom, and on top. Wait for it to become about 50-75% colunized then initiate fruiting. So thats what I was following the first two times. This time I stuck strictly with the how to coir tek in the archives. Just worries me like I said because here we are just like the last 3 failed attempts a week and a half or so in and no pins, worried the big green weenie might pop up lol

Don't put holes in the very bottom. They go on the side of the tub about 4 inches up the wall from the bottom. The lower holes should be just above the surface of the substrate on the sides of the tub and the upper holes should be in the center, near the lid on the ends of the tub.

-------------------- The biggest trip of my life was realizing all of the events and actions described in posts made by this account were never real and had never actually happened, but were instead the delusional ramblings of a severely mentally ill human being. I just had to move on for my own good. I love you all.

Stay out of the archives until you get the basics down. That's all old stuff. Start here instead.

How can we get this sticked/pinned to this subform? Along with a few others that are always suggested?
