I'm on my lunch break so I don't have time to look too much into it ATM but it sounds like you either can or that it's coming soon. Whenever I get home today I'll read into it more and try to find out if it's a thing yet.

Usually I play black ops, Halo or Skyrim but a few weeks ago I rented Dark Souls III and it was unlike any other game I had played before. I definitely recommend it but the only downside to it in my opinion is that at times its a bit too hard.

I don't think they can compete with pc players is the main obstacle.

Not worried about that, especially if you can use a mouse and keyboard with an xbone.

There was one xbox 360 game that was both Xbox and PC gamers together. I forgot the name. It was kinda like a goofy version of unreal tournment.
Not too many games thou, consoles are basically in their own digital world

Microsoft is apparently implementing a new system with their exclusives (gears 4 included). It is called Play Anywhere, buying a single copy of the game on X1 or Windows 10 gives ownership on both.
Have not actually tried it yet though, so don't know if they followed through on cross platform multiplayer servers, or if it is strictly cross-platform ownership and cloud saves.

Microsoft will allow Xbox gamers to play against PS4 and PC players By Tom Warren on March 14, 2016 12:48 pm
Microsoft is announcing a big new feature for Xbox owners today: cross-network play. It's something the software giant has hinted at for years, and now it seems the reality of PS4, Xbox One, and PC players playing the same game together might finally happen. Developers building games for Xbox One and Windows 10 will be able to support the feature, but it will require Sony and others to "participate" in order for games to be played across Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Rocket League will be one of the first titles to support the new cross-network play, and Microsoft notes there is an "open invitation for other networks to participate as well," strongly hinting that Sony or other console manufacturers could enable gamers to play their friends regardless of what device they're using.
If developers and console makers get behind Microsoft's support of cross-network play then it will change the shape of games in the future. Currently, console gamers are restricted to playing titles on the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live, and many pick an Xbox One or PS4 based on what their friends purchased. Opening up online multiplayer gaming across different platforms will remove a big restriction in console gaming, but it will also create a conversation around which titles should allow PC gamers to play against consoles. A mouse and keyboard can still have many advantages over a gamepad for first-person shooters, so it's a new challenge that game developers will have to balance for cross-network play.

What makes you skeptical? How fast you turn is controlled by the sensitivity of your cursor often in the game settings

Pfft we will see. Opening up the doors balances standards and personal skill assuming the game setting software doesn't limit the players actual skill, the skill of the player on the console will increase when continuously pitted against players on pc, if what you said were even true

I'm a PC guy, but i respect all gamers, regardless if your a pc gamer or Xbox (or Playstation) gamer. People who fight over this stuff are naïve in my opinion. I've been considering getting an Xbone soon.

People who act like limited consoles are anyway equivalent to an open source chipset are losing the game IMO.

the specs on both the ps4 / xbone are pretty decent... in fact, they're actually really good. Ps4 uses a new powerful AMD 8 core processor and a gpu with over 1100 shader units and other beefed features as well the xbone is the same or just slightly behind in power.
