Serious help please first attempt
    #23637571 - 09/12/16 02:29 AM (7 years, 4 months ago)

So this is my first attempt at a grow and as many of you may know it's not that easy asking for help or having someone knowledgeable to help you so I'm turning to this site, I started 3 jars of wbs ( the only person I knew who grew mushrooms told me this is the best method and it's sure fire to grow them to perfection so I took his advice, I would be asking him for advice but he's currently in a situation with the law ). 2 of the 3 jars are at 30-35% colonized after 3 weeks , but one of them is growin slow, I just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time with it, please and thank you whoever helps me in advance.

3 weeks to 35% at best? Something is off.
We need pics. We need WBS tek, and we need to know the method of inoculation. I've got a hunch that the WBS was not prepared correctly, you noc'd with MS syringe, and there's bacteria. Just a guess though.

Grains without a pressure cooker is an automatic fail, especially only 1:25, I pressure cook grains longer than that. Steam sterilization without a PC would take at least 8 hours even then I wouldn't trust it, endospores are a bitch.

Without a PC you aren't following Frank's tek.

it isn't either or. Grains are not PF tek. You can't decide to boil because you don't have a PC. Throw those things out.

Those things look pretty gross; chuck em and try again following a tek to the T. If you don't have a PC then use PF Tek. the nature of the Verm layer keeps out contams and the hot bath is all thats needed for PF. WBS needs to be Pressure cooked and for longer than you did it without a PC. Try again, this time follow the teks.
