How can one gauge a vendors quality ahead of time?

Let's say I order spore syringes. Let's say they provided they arrived in 3 days inconspicuously and provided good customer service. At this point most noobs will be like WOW GREAT VENDOR. But they don't know how clean that spore syringe is.
I only recently learned the power of agar. So now, I will take a multispore syringe and grow it on agar and do a transfer first to make sure I get a clean start. But if someone doesn't do agar, they could be in a world of fucked-up shit.
And I often wonder, how do we know that vendors are using good cultures? How do we know their product is not succumbing to senescence? Or does that not apply to spores and only mycelium?
So, I'm just wondering... how the hell could someone trust a vendor and their procedures? There are many, MANY online all with competitive prices.

If you go with Sporeworks and have issues, it's not the spores. That's about all I got.

i get ya. thats what agar work is for. using MS i had a high failure rate. thats where the 'hobby' aspect comes in for me!
i grow my own. isolate my own, print my own, so on and so on.

Why don't vendors use isolates? Or is that impossible to do because once a mushroom drops its spores the genetics of the spores are a mixed bag so to speak and not isolated anymore?

They know what they're doing and they've been doing it for a long time, and frankly it's not exactly rocket science. If your technique is right, you should be able to do BRF jars even with crappy syringes, and with agar it doesn't even matter what's in the syringe as long as the spores are part of it.
Vendors sell spores. Spores are by their nature not isolates, they are the definition of MS. Every spore is genetically different, always. Even if you grow from an isolate and take a print, it's still MS if you use that print.

Correct. Also, vendors will never sell isolates on agar or test tubes from magic mushrooms. The mycelium contains psilocybin and psilocin (the magic), chemical compounds that are illegal to possess in most parts of the world, even in trace amounts. The spores themselves do not contain said chemicals, so they sell those instead. Gotta love loop holes!
I've been using the same, well-established vendor for years, and the cleanliness of their syringes and prints are usually good. Some have been squeaky clean, others dirty as fuck. The only thing that has been 100% consistent is the contents. I always get what I pay for. Quickly too.

And they probably do work with isolates but to keep having shrooms you need spores your clones and isolates can basically turn to shit so I'm sure they have a shit ton of isolates and clones so they can continue making spores which are a dime a dozen I'm sure if they sold isolates and good ones at that meaning they did tons of work and testing for that isolate and you would probably spend 500$ on a single isolate ...weave said it tho if they sold a live tissue of a illegal substance it would get them in a shit ton of trouble like why Cheng went to prison from selling bongs
