Did he do this right with the cake making?

Alright so my friend followed the directions on how to make the cakes with half pint jars, he followed through everything. The only weird thing is that the amount of water the direction said 60 cc of water or 3 1/2 table spoon water seemed not enough. When he poured it in along with the brown rice flower and vermaculite it seemed little dry. Anyways so after all that he put it in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes then did the injection of spores. Everything seemed alright until the injection of the spores. From the 4 holes to inject there would always be one side of the jar where it would be little dry so the spore liquid would not go all the way down to the bottom of the jar! While the other 3 sides do! Is this a sign of too little water or is it ok? If little water then what can he do?

This kind of thing is sort of a judgement call. Your first time certainly go by the book, but afterwards you can make adaptations to find out what works best for you.

First grows are a bitch, bro.
You won't have any idea of what you did right or wrong until nature shows you the way. Then you'll say, "Oh! I get it."

this is actually his second time, the first time he sued B+ and it was such a huge success he completed the batch with a month including incubation time! It must a record or beginners luck? They all grew up to about 6 inches tall! @_@
Some parts are lose in the jars and some parts seem to be a little thick since when he shook them to losen them up the brown rice seemed to have settled in certain areas thicker.
