Lophosaurus said: Hey everybody. I got some free tickets to see Counting Crows and the Matchbox 20 guy so I went. Matchbox20 wasn't completely horrible, but the Crows were. It was the worst concert I've been to tied with the Ghost Owl concert. The crowd was lame too. Some of them were actually playing board games during the show. I got drunk and still had a pretty good time though.

That's what you get for going
The board games part was priceless, I'll remember that forever

I laughed pretty hard at the board game comment too haha. Tho when its Matchbox 20 playing it somehow doesn't surprise me. I didn't even know they still were together let alone still playing live hahaha.

All those bands are. Or most at least. I'd go see them, cause I grew up with them on the radio. I wouldn't go expecting to get a show like I usually see though. I have a friend that saw counting crows once, and said the lead singer was so hammered he couldn't even sing.

Oh yea man, they were always on the radio. I wouldn't go see them hahaha. Thats pretty sad about the Counting Crows, I mean if you're paying to go see a band you like and they are so fucked they cant perform. I've been disappointed numerous times for reasons like that. Its nice to get a buzz on before playing live, I always have some tokes or a small line of speed before our set. Tho there is a big difference between using it to loosen up or getting too fucked up. It sucks haha sometimes it can just happen and you dont even notice. Happened to me before, but it almost makes you not even want to get up there because you knoe you're too high/drunk to keep it together haha. Especially playing death metal on the drums hahah which is why I stick to the green and maybe a little line if I'm feeling it.

I've seen a lot of musicians play super fucked up, and others I wish I'd seen would do the same. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Layne Staley & Scott Weiland would go onstage totally faded on heroin & just crush it. Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia as well. I like the counting crows....gotta be in the right mood to listen to them though.

Oh for sure man, for a lot of musicians/singers it worked in their favor. I know people who can be blackout drunk but put a guitar/bass/kit in front of them and just shred. Pantera would drink so much and play, but still be tight as fuck. The Allman Brothers Band were high on mescaline/heroine (probably other substances as well) while performing at the Fillmore East during the recording for the LP. The cover where Gregg and the band are laughing is because right before the photo was taken he ran across the street to score a bag of dope haha.
Sorry I started rambling on there. Pretty baked right now, and this valerian root/l theanine mix is giving me this weird sedated energy if that makes any sense? hahaha
