Nice new find near my house...

Half my patches stopped flushing after that warm weather, some, including this one keeps trucking on. As does the inoculation projects....

I went out to snag a few chanterelles and take pics of pellies last weekend. Not seeing as many chanterelles, but saw winter chanterelles for the first time which was cool.
Where I found the patch of forest pellies last time, near some old growth douglas fir, I found one

And about a mile away near a trail on a long overgrown logging road saw two more.

These are some from a clear-cut, also in the coast range

There's a Mycena (purpureofusca?) sneaking into this bunch

Here's some pellicle porn

Other than the less colorful mycena that can look like pellies, there are common look-a-likes in the clear-cut habitat such as Hypholoma dispersum that lack the translucent striation and pellicle, but can look similar when soaked, and one that is possibly Galerina vittiformis that lacks the pellicle, is less striated, more orange, and has bright orange gills.
 NO BUENO^
If anyone hunts these with the intention of consumption, it's a good idea to watch out for those species, check the pellicle, and spore print.
Another slightly active species not worth the risk eating is Inocybe calamistrata, though these could very well be Inocybe hirsuta var maxima. I'm not sure how to tell the two apart. My pictures don't do these justice, their shaggy texture is pretty cool looking.

This one was big, old, and ragged. A few of the older ones displayed this peeling of the shaggy layer on the cap.

Tried the Manilla dunes a couple of days ago, no luck. Went to another spot further north today and...bingo! Wow, you really have to get all up under that dune grass.

In 1962, a six-year-old girl in Oregon experienced a high fever and seizure after eating mushrooms which were later supposedly identified as Psilocybe cyanescens; she died three days after being hospitalized.[4] Similar cases in children (not resulting in death) have been reported in San Francisco.[4] Despite these incidents, the mushroom is not generally regarded as being physically dangerous to adults.[5] Since all the psychoactive compounds in P. cyanescens are water-soluble, the fruiting bodies can be rendered non-psychoactive through parboiling, allowing their culinary use. However, since most people find them overly bitter and they are too small to have great nutritive value, this is not frequently done.

Leratiomyces Ceres on the red ones.
I had a similar experience with a patch. I didn't notice I was being watched though. Some guy walked up and said, "are you sure those are the right ones?" Then hung out until I left. Dammit. That spot was one of my favorites because of its easy access and locale. Now it's blown, thanks to me.

The azure pin that was half eaten weeks ago is still kicking.

And some new primordia coming out the bottom of the pot.

Some over mature cyans.

A scattered patch of chunky specimens huddled low to the ground.

Made some slurry to spread to other areas with this flush.

Found this at a spot that I hadn't had time to stop at earlier this year. Glad I decided to stop today.

Great finds everybody.

Observed some young ones in the PDX area this morning. There were a bunch of darkened pins in this cyan ring that must have aborted, but I think these may make it.

I found this patch late in the season last year after after searching for miles and miles. It only produced a few fruits in December, but it has really grown exponentially this season and its still going strong. Next year I think it will be so large it will be difficult to conceal and then it will be easily found and possibly destroyed. I can already see the mycelium is growing like crazy.

At this spot i found this what i think is a cyan, kinda a rare shape for the cap thoigh. Still pretty neat. These were growing alone, only 4 total and strange flat, not wavy caps. Still think theyre cyans though.

G3tblunt these look like ps. Allenii to me.
