Sk8 yup not that much more north but yes a ways above westport.
And tenaciousme thanks yah it's nothing compared to your recent find. my mega patch is about that but over a huge area not so dense. I think you've got the best patch I've ever seen.
I really prefer cyans but live the thrill of azzies.

Nice. I always wonder how far north they go. I'm sure there are some all the way around the peninsula if you look hard enough.

Here's one of the gills with the pellicle stretching.
I'd guess pellies too but what a stange habitat. They were right where you'd expect azzies.
Sk8 id guess anywhere that dune grass is they're probably there too. But on Google it looks like the grass spots are few and far between up more north

Yeah but they are there, and there is a good deal of woody debris all along the coast. Maybe we just need to do a little patch starting to get areas going. Staying away from the heat of the Astoria/Long Beach area sounds relaxing, especially if there were azurescens around.

I checked one of my coast spots, and walked away with a couple dozen tops or so...three some of the dry caps around to broaden the area...

These questionable pellies are exhibiting a strange whiteish color when drying. Normally the hydrophaneous thing occurs but they turn light tan never seen this color almost blue in a way.

Here is some libs from a field in kitsap. Ime with libs they turn yellow through the hydrophaneous change like the pellies I've found.

But I've seen ghostly white azzies and cyans at the beach so it wouldn't surprise me to find ghostly libs there too. Was just a suprise to find em at all.

Do you have the opportunity to go back to the spot and take more pictures of them? Maybe some in situ shots? Maybe they are P. silvatica, who fucking knows.. Do you have a scope?

It's a few hours out, but next time im there I'll see if theres more for photo ops. Phone was low. And then I'm bringing a few to a buddy with a good scope to take a look.
They look like pelly stipes not libs to me too. And the cap shape didn't look nippy enough for libs
Joust told me there's been no confirmation that sylvatica exist. All the specimens collected turned out to be pellies.

Mee to, but I don't find it that weird, there's a lot of conifer needles indicating a suitable substrate, probably a thicker layer further down.

Hahaha I found those exactly where alan recorded finding them in that reference. Thanks for that info! I'll have to let my friend with the scope know and post pics when i get em.
Maybe sylvatica are real!
Wonder what joust will have to say on the matter, Maybe I'll send him some.
