Dandelions and scotch broom are blooming. The weather I'm experiencing in my areas was similar to the 2nd week of Oct. It took me a long time to find anything worthwhile (8h for 2oz). You can see they're struggling and fruits are maturing and dying before going sunbaked. If anyone's traveling then you might want to wait for some cold, windy and raining days. They've taken a beating between pickers and maintenance and weather. If I didn't live so close to my backup spot I wouldn't have gone back today. This morning I arrived to police and a shake down and a barren set of patches.
Had a fantastic day though. Time for some vicodin, weed, Mexican food and after a shower bang my wife out. Night everyone stay safe.

Haven't been able to get out lately but was finally able to get out yesterday and today.

This one don't look like much, but they were started by tiger dropping on site 3 pasty plates of Ps. Azurescens. The slugs did a number on them before I could get to them. This in the Puget Sound area.

These Ps. allenii were tiger dropped as well straight to the chips outside no pasteurization or or sterilization.

Yesterday I went to check on a spot I've been watching for years. It's a half mile long strip of wood chips near a freeway entrance. A perfect riparian area the city put up... I have been waiting and waiting for the wood chip to ripen... and then blam after 3 years. Well worth the wait.

This is the biggest flush I've ever found in about 8 years of hunting. The ground literally carpeted... as far as the eye can see.

Keep up the good work everybody!

Thanks guys! A great feeling to find that spot... pretty sure I wasn't the first.
Pretty sure I saw a herd of unruly youths tromping through the area as I was driving by today. Oh well, at least I got some good photos hehe. What a season so far amirite?

I picked, photographed and walked parks from SW Oregon to SW Washington past two days. I wouldn't say the coast is in full swing right now. Looks like it's taking a break everywhere I went. Maybe it's using paid vacation. Looks like it needs one.
People came out picking for Kings which should be winding down (or done) but are still going strong. I dunno, it's been T-shirt weather a lot. Locals said it's been great weather to get outside and unexpected. It sucks to see the coast in November looking like it did in early/mid Oct. The first few flushes took a lot out of some areas. It looks like they're not even there anymore. Some matures stand 2-4cm high. It is weird to see stuff flowering as much as it is, too.

The longer we have this weather the longer my cyans fruit I'm starting to get the second flush in some areas, it's crazy how F$%#ing slow these cyans grow.

Hah, didn't even think of that. I should get back to some or the parks I was in before the season hit. I bet they're doing well now.
I wonder if your cyans will get pushed into a later season, still going while parks and stuff are done. You've gotta figure it's a farm/forest. Mushrooms like keeping other mushrooms warm. They also prevent evaporative cooling. Your mushroom carpets will keep the babies warm. Maybe later in the season it would be a better idea to harvest a little later so the pins have a better shot at it. I dunno it's just speculation I'm high and tired and going through 300 pictures.

Yeah but when they pop, they pop. The dune cyans are weird man. Throw some of these spores on agar. They grow as fast as azures and fruit just as late.
This is my favorite weds/thurs picture. I had gone to move some stem butts from WA to OR. I was getting kind of down and felt bummed, so I walked over and started trying this area just lifting up grass. I didn't find another line of them like this, but I sure as hell worked some mycelium into it.. colonized twigs /sticks/grass and some pine needle myc for good measure.

By the way, have you considered trimming your mushrooms just a little further up the stipe? Fungal sugars are the easiest things for mushrooms to eat. They don't have to break wood down and work for it. I don't know if leaving behind more stem would help in "The Field of Dreams" you got going on there.

Either spores from my patch have traveled close by, or another patch found right on the side of the road by my house!(main road) Who would have guessed. A little older and sporing up but a great find nonetheless!

Andrewjossi brought a huge tub of mycelium-soaked wood chips up for our hunt this week. He covered our already-producing spots to increase and expand productivity and chipped new habitats that seemed ideal. He's awesome at hunting, too, and found some new patches - one is among the best I've seen. Good times.

I keep seeing all the dense flush posts, but I'm reminded of a field of cyans that I know of, that I can't get a picture of without giving up the spot, and it's guarded by federal plates...it's gorgeous, but I can't capture it for you guys...maybe someone on here has an idea of what I'm referring to... ...Have only found a couple dense patches, so I'm a little jealous of all the great shots...

Finally found two good beds of wood chips, but one is new, and the other seemed inert. *shrug*
Marked a bunch of spots though, so I may head back out...
