My god, N05482, you always post some of the best pictures. They make me want to drool. Can't claim I'm not jealous, but at least this morning I found something too. Best single-day find I've yet made, even if it isn't one of your monster patches.
The central cluster:

In the general area nearby were numerous singles and this photogenic threesome:

Other fun:
I'd forgotten to bring a paper bag so I put them in a paper towel, which stained blue
Weighing today's haul, after I cleaned off all the dirt and fauna. I took about 1/3 of what I found, and left the rest to release spores in peace.

Found a patch in a well guarded areas. Dang old people not minding their own business spooked me off of the find.

they are wild don't be jealous envious.
Actually it looks like someone stood there and sprayed some LC. Kind of looks like it spells something. Also kinda looks like fairy ring upon fairy ring.

My first azzies! They were growing wild in a park but not on the coast, this was 60 miles east of the dunes, south puget sound area.
Cyans and azzies in the same day is damn good day

Yeah, what jerks for not liking trespassers pickingcontrolled substances on their property.
Don't get me wrong, it's a shame the mushrooms aren't legally or socially accepted but we are not doing ourselves any favors by disrespecting the property rights of others. It makes us all look bad and ultimately gains us nothing.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

No they had parked their car just down the trail. They walked up on me I was about 15 feet from the pavement. They might have been nervous I was gonna break Into their car?idk. It's a bad neighborhood. I was on public property. When I say well guarded I mean lots of people, barking dogs, wedding photography seems popular around my patches for some reason. That kind of stuff.

Oh yeah, there's no accounting for what makes some people paranoid and age seems a frequent cofactor. Such settings call for either greater care or just not giving effs
Both approaches have their merits.

I've found my best success with seeding another patch is when i find a bed of chips that have everything but cyans already in em, but arnt fully digested into dirt. i look for an area with the microclimate features i find patches in normally and then i stick a few whole mushrooms with stem buts in the ground. I rip up a few caps and litter them around. If i ever find a nice bunch of overripe one's FQ knows I bare hand rip em up and spread em out.
Asta and i start bins with like five chips and a few mushys. It's not like you need to transplant em with a shovel.
Yeah I know you are good about it. Spreading the gewdness.
But now that I am on the topic....there has been a lot of back and forth between a few people about patch rape and I didn't weigh in. I think that since we are all on the Shroomery it is a sign of having more interest and care. I think everybody here has good intentions so that is important. Everybody knows how frustrating it is to see these patches get mutilated but I guess that is just part and parcel of hunting publicly. I think one thing that I just have to say because I want to get it off my chest....is that I personally leave anything alone that doesn't have at least a fairly decent amount of wave/upturn on the margin to indicate maturity. I'm not trying to be self righteous.....but I think that there are a lot of reasons why you should let the mushrooms mature. I have also heard that it is good to let some of the mushrooms actually rot but I am not sure if that has been substantiated. Anyway, that is just my 2 cents on the previous discussions that I have seen on here.

Unfortunately theres one thing I disagree with. ... I dont think everyone here has good intentions... I would say that about long time users though!

Perfect end to a perfect weekend with LocN9ne. We were in the area of one place I like but it is ridiculously public. Loc still managed to find a couple sexy azure and cyan patches. (A few members here have been there, and thank you guys/gals for leaving some and selective harvesting. Great job, and nice to have you around, glad you've all had fun there. I never would've guessed either but just happened to roll through one day).
So while he's passed out I start bringing us home and stop at the place we were at Saturday. Found this huge open area. It's gotta be 10x25. Very open and I seeded it with Washington butts. Loaded. Words do not describe. I'd have taken pictures but it was so many I made a video. Will get that up here.
It's been worked by a few people and there's signs of people covering pins with loose pine branches and brambles. I couldn't help but put some monster genetics to add to the pool. After finding so few dune cyans so far, it was nice to walk away with big honking printable specimens, Loc got me the killer azures about the size of my hand to print.
Ran into a young couple working the park toward the end. Guy grew up right around the corner of the dunes. They were doing edibles for kings and slippery jacks. Got to talking and they really helped a lot. Saved me a lot of ground I was going to cover but now don't have to. He was impressed I was seeding Washington genetics to diversify the fungus. I mentioned it sucks that I've pulled out more garbage now than I did last year until Jan. He let me in on a something something and I guess was astounded to see someone who cleans up but doesn't have to. I'll be going back in the morning now lol.
Just all around amazing people and finds and fun all weekend I couldn't have asked for more. Will work on the video but right now I need a heating pad, weed and ibuprofen. Hope you all have a great week.
