Damn good catching up 2 pages deep! Some good stuff on here.
Today found a cool example of the power of shade to make a microclimate

And before anyone bites my head of for this pic in so glad joust just dropped some relevant information. I only took the whole cluster an educational tool to teach some friends and i planted it to drop spores and rot away in a new habitat they were not obviously in yet. I'm confident that the cluster will live on as a patch.

It was just to perfect not to take and show them the gregarious nature of them in many stages. And fuck the rhizomes look like roots!

NICE! Looks crazy.. Also if were going to be fair, I should get on your case too......
but really, an educational tool that can go a long way maybe 20+ potential patches if you do it right. Neosporen taught me a lot, mostly, if your going to mess with a patch it better be downright your property.... and more importantly, you better be freaking experianced at cult. Im only now getting to see what really makes good spawn habitat.. really sinking into the knowledge this old british guy has I met.. He is awesome. had an accidental huge cyan cluster in a 5 gal bucket, ill post pics, they were just about the largest cyans ive seen!

We as a community should respect that not all people are properly educated about the ugh.. side-effects?.. of patch mining (taking mycelium from patches to start more). I really think it is important to let others know, mostly because, as a community we wont have any patches at all if everyone starts digging and replanting. It seems that someone or something has destroyed 4 public patches during the weekend. Whos to say that they didnt know at all about fungal biology... Im planning on giving people the benefit of the doubt at least until I find out their trash hahah Every year hundreds of cyan pins get murdered, but only you can prevent forest fires....damnit.. i meant patch destruction.
Keep it up all you guys are freaking awesome!

I'm hoping all the showing people i do has net positive results. I try and teach em all respect but I've raised a few bad eggs too...
I've found my best success with seeding another patch is when i find a bed of chips that have everything but cyans already in em, but arnt fully digested into dirt. i look for an area with the microclimate features i find patches in normally and then i stick a few whole mushrooms with stem buts in the ground. I rip up a few caps and litter them around. If i ever find a nice bunch of overripe one's FQ knows I bare hand rip em up and spread em out.
Asta and i start bins with like five chips and a few mushys. It's not like you need to transplant em with a shovel.

Great finds everyone! Beautiful season so far. Joust killin it as always. I went out hunting for nearly seven hours in the Puget Sound area today and came back empty handed You'd think after 4 years i'd at least be a little better but it doesn't always work out that way i guess. I'm still giving it my best shot. Happy to see everyone else is have good luck! If i end up finding something one day i'll post it for you guys.

Happiness is a successful new bed start
Started last fall with stem butts on public land
A little digging and I counted over 100 mushrooms ... Some 3-4 inch diameter
Peace

So I'm in town on the Oregon coast, and I was wondering if all the other people pacing the dunes are looking for the same thing?...usually, I find off path spots, but figured I'd browse in public...just seemed like there's a significant number of others doing the same thing...
